He is frightened. So alone, listening to the cries of night creatures from the small pit in the sand he has dug out to sleep in.
He isn't supposed to be alone in the middle of the desert at night, or separated from his friends by an accident.
Looking up at the moon, he moans softly, wishing that his friends knew where he is. They always find the missing ones sooner or later, but it is disheartening to wait.
Steeling himself, he takes a deep breath and curls up further in his bed.
He will wait, no matter what happens.
