Quidditch Practice II

Hermione stopped her pacing to look at her watch. She rolled her eyes and started again. The suit of armor watching her, its neck squeaking as he turned back and forth. Hermione suddenly pulled her wand and spun around taking aim.

"Oleum!" she exclaimed, oil shooting out of the end of her wand; hitting the armor in the neck. It moved its head from side to side as the squeaking slowly stopped. The armor gave her a bow. "You're welcome." She looked at her watch again.

"Oh!" she stamped her foot. "Where is he?"

Draco Malfoy stepped from behind the tapestry and glared at her.

"Draco!" Hermione gave an excited cry and launched herself into his arms. She pressed her lips to his, her eyes closed. Malfoy stood still not responding. Hermione opened her eyes.

"Something wrong?" she asked. Draco pried her arms from around his neck and set her from him.  He stood glaring down at her. "Again, is something wrong?"

"You know what's wrong," Draco hissed.

Hermione shrugged and shook her head. "No, tell me."

"It's been three weeks since you slapped me," he said.

"Slapped you?" Hermione asked incredulously.

"Yes, slapped me."

"Are you mad? Draco, I'm not going to slap you," Hermione said shaking a finger at him.  "Not that you don't deserve it. That was a particularly vile thing you said this morning."

"Of course it was vile," Malfoy spit out. "It was supposed to provoke you. You were supposed to slap me."

"You are mad," Hermione stated.

"And you're a mudblood." SMACK! Draco pressed his hand to his cheek and smiled a wicked smile. "Granger," he growled and grabbed Hermione.

"Stop it!" Hermione said struggling. Draco tangled his one hand in her hair as he held her tight against him with his other. He turned her head to look up at him. "Stop..." but her cry was cut off by his mouth slanting across hers. Draco kissed her long and deep, until her struggles subsided. Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck as she gave into the warmth that was rushing through her.

Draco suddenly pushed her away. Hermione leaned against the wall.

"Now what?" she asked breathlessly and a little exasperated. Malfoy put a hand on either side of her head.

"Does Weasley kiss you like that?" he asked a tinge of jealousy in his voice.

"Ron?"

"No Ginny," Draco said. "Of course Ron."

"Ron's never kissed me," Hermione confessed.

Draco let out a nasty chuckle. "Weasley is more stupid than I thought," he said as he leaned down for a gentle kiss. "Wait!" breaking it. Hermione glared at him. "You don't let..." he swallowed. "You don't let Potter kiss you? Do you?"

Hermione started to giggle. "No Harry has never kissed me either. And if you don't get on with it, I'm going to slap you again."

"Maybe I should stop then," Draco said with a winning grin. SMACK! "That's my girl,"  he pulled Hermione into his arms.

With their lips locked together, Hermione's and Draco's eyes suddenly pop open when they heard someone trip and fall around the corner.

Hermione smiled. "It worked." Draco lifted an eyebrow at her. "A tripping spell, with a stationary enchantment to keep it in place. I didn't know if it would work, but it did." She gave Draco a quick peck on the lips.

"You're amazing." Draco said.

"Bloody hell," Ron said to himself from around the corner. They heard him getting to his feet.

Hermione gasped and gave Draco a push. "Go!"

"Let's tell him," Draco said. "Let's tell everyone."

Hermione shook her head and pushed him again. "Go!"

Draco reluctantly slipped behind the tapestry just as Ron came into view.

"Hermione," he said with a smile. "What are you doing here?"

"I, uh, well," Hermione stammered. "I was waiting for you. You said you needed help with you magical history paper."

Ron gave her another smile. "You're wonderful." He hesitated than took her hand in his. "Hermione, I..." he swallowed hard. "Oh bloody hell." Ron pulled her against him and kissed her. Hermione let out a little squeak, but didn't stop him. Ron lifted his head. "I've wanted to do that for ages."

"You have?" Hermione said a little breathless.

Ron smiled and nodded, then lowered his mouth to hers again. Draco watched from behind the tapestry and felt his heart drop. He had known it was too good to last. After all she was a mudblood and he was a pure blood. His family would never accept her. Draco let out a heavy sigh as the tapestry fell back into place as he turned and went into through secret passage.

Ron jerked away from Hermione. "What was that?" he said twisting around. "You think someone was there. Someone was watching us." He took a step toward the tapestry. Hermione grabbed his arm and held him back. Hermione looked toward the tapestry, she was sure Draco had watched.

"No. I don't think anyone was there," she said somewhat sadly.

"Come on, let's get back to the common room," Ron said putting his arm around her. He glanced over his shoulder one more time as the walk down the hall.

The end
