Work Text:
Easter Day
When they nailed him to that cross
the world had gained from His loss
hanging bravely He watched them walk away
leaving Him to die on that Friday
He gave us the freedom to choose
have ya heard the good news
He has died for all our sins
that we'll commit, and all that have been
time passed slowly that dreadful day
once he died they carried Him away
to the cave, where His body lay
wrapped Him in clothe, forever to stay
Then they rolled the biggest stone
in front of the entrance to His tomb
as His mother cried remembering
the immaculate conception in her womb
The guards stood watch then fell asleep
when out of no where into their dreams he creeped
and as they slept there that Sunday
he somehow rolled the stone away
He walked Himself right out'a that cave
back from death, His life He gave away
yes He died for me and for you
but He has risen... what'cha gonna do?
When your time at long last comes
to stop the insanity, and stop the fun
that living in sin will allow you to do
He is risen, and He's coming back for YOU
