Let's Be Us Again

"You know, I don't even know what we were fighting about. I'm sure it was stupid, whatever it was. And now we aren't talking. I hate it when he doesn't talk to me, and he knows it."

"Sometimes I think I need the sound of his voice like I need air. But see, that's the problem. I hate the fact that I need someone or something so much. I've always been independent, until I met him. Now, if I don't see or hear, or even smell him every day, I feel like I could just dry up and die. Just like a dying flower. Just blow away on the wind like I was never there."

"I wish he was here now. I don't know where he went, just said that he had to think for a while. He's good at thinking. Sometimes I wish I would stop and think before I said or did something. It would probably make life a lot easier."

"We weren't always like this. At one time we got along real well. But recently, it's like we aren't ourselves anymore. I wish we could go back to the way things used to be. Back when things were good. Back when I was sure he knew that I loved him. I'm not sure anymore. I want to believe it, but I sure haven't given him reason to believe it recently."

"I just wish he'd come home. It's been two hours now. Wait, I think I hear his old car now. Yeah, that's him. He's getting on the elevator, now he's walking across the hall, he's at the door."

"Hey Chief." I say when he opens the door and steps in. He looks up at me with those gorgeous blue eyes of his. He looks scared and I don't blame him. Before he can say anything I grab him and hug him as close as I physically can, and I whisper, "I love you Blair. Lets be us again. Please baby, let's just be us again."

At first he is tense, but after a few seconds he sighs and relaxes into my embrace. "Yeah," He says, "We can do that."

The End
