Secret

Summary:

Will Ruby be able to keep her secret?

Work Text:

"I can only love you in secret, for if you knew of my feelings, you would
hate me." Ruby whispered, and she watched Trudy push a wave full of
her brown hair out of her eyes. Ruby fingered her own blonde hair, and
wished that she could have Trudy running her hands through her hair,
and spending time with her. Though she knew it'd never happen, Ruby
never gave up hope that her dream of loving Trudy, would come true.

She got up, and walked into the school a few minutes after Trudy had.
Ruby went to her locker, she spun the dial, and pulled her car keys out.
Deciding that she wasn't going to stay in school today, she turned to
leave, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning around, she came
face to face with Trudy, and Ruby felt her heart rate speed up a notch.

"I'm sorry Ruby, I didn't mean to scare you." Trudy said softly, smiling.
Ruby could barely breathe. She hadn't known Trudy knew she existed,
much less, had known her name. Forcing herself to speak, even though
it was hard, Ruby said, "I... Uh... It's fine, I'm fine." She forced herself
to say. Ruby blushed a little when Trudy laughed softly, and then smiled.
"I was wondering, if it wasn't too much trouble, could you take me with
you, wherever you're going? I really don't feel like being at school today."

Ruby nodded. "I was planning on just going ride around town for a while,
maybe go to my secret place, and relax." Trudy nodded. She looked at
Ruby. Is it okay if I go with you? To your secret place, I mean. If you
don't want me to go, please, just say so. I'll understand." Ruby shook
her head. "No, it's fine. You can come." She looked at Trudy, and then
asked, "Do you need anything before we go?" Trudy shook her head no.

A little while later, they were in Ruby's car, driving around. They went
to her secret place, and went into the cabin that was on the property.
The two girls went inside, and talked for a little while, as well as played
card games. When they walk back outside, it was sunrise. The two girls
sat down on the front of the car and watched it, feeling at peace with
each other.

A few minutes later, two guys walked up to them. No one had been back
here in a long time, so Ruby was surprised when the two guys walked up
to them. The four teenagers talked for another hour, and then Ruby and
Trudy said their goodbyes, and then they left. The girls talk silently, as
Ruby drove around town some more. However, as they were crossing a
bridge to get back to town, the heater in the car began to act strange.

Both girls got worried, and before they could get out of the car, it blew
up, and rolled over, breaking part of the bridge. Ruby was just barely
hanging onto a piece of the bridge, trying not to let go, so that she
wouldn't fall into the water below and drown. Trudy bolted out the car,
and, grabbing Ruby's hands, began trying to pull her back on the bridge.

Trudy's grasp was strong, and even though the grip was tight, she
screamed, "Please don't ever let go!" Trudy used all of her strength,
and she pulled a sobbing Ruby back onto the bridge, and hugging her
close, pressed a soft, sweet kiss, to Ruby's lips. Ruby so stunned at
first, that she let Tudy kiss her. When the kiss was over, Ruby looked
at Trudy.

"I know we don't know each other very well, but I want you, so bad."
She said softly, as Trudy continued to hug her. Trudy nods. "I know,
and I feel the same way." Ruby spoke again. "I need to try and keep
this a secret. I mean, I don't want to ruin your populatiry, but having
anyone find out that you and I are together." Trudy put a gentle finger
on Ruby's lips.

"I don't care if anyone finds out that I'm gay. However, if you wish to
keep the fact that we're going to start dating, a secret, then it's fine
with me. We will just have to try real hard to keep it a secret." A few
moments later, as they stood beside the messed up car, the two girls
began to make out, as cars came and went on the bridge, watching in
shock, as the two girls continued to make out. Everything was okay,
and that's all that mattered to them.

The End.
