Jack sighed softly, as he woke up. He was startled, to see Ellie standing in the doorway of his room,
staring at him. Jack quickly got up out of his bed, and walked over to his girlfriend, even though she
didn't remember that she was his girlfriend. "Ellie, are you okay? What's wrong?" Jack asked, gently
grabbing her elbow, and leading her over to his bed, so they could sit down, so that they could talk.
"Now, what's happened? Are you okay?"
Ellie nodded. "Y-Yes. I-I'm fine." She said uncertainly. Jack smiled. "Do you want to tell me what is
wrong?" Ellie nodded. "I'm scared. Everyone says that you and I were really close, we were dating,
and so I feel like I can trust you, like I want to, even though I don't remember anything. Will you
always be there for me? I know it's a lot to ask. But I feel like you are the only one who could be
there for me." Jack nodded.
"Ellie, you don't have to worry. I will be here for you always. I love you, and when you get your
memory back, you will know it, and things will be wonderful, and will go back to normal. But until
then, you are just going to have to trust me, and the rest of the Mall rats." Jack said to her softly.
Ellie nodded, and then, as she leaned against him, and she leaned her head on his shoulder, Ellie
felt comfortable, and safe, all at one time.
"I love you Ellie. I know that I have been saying it ever since you got back, but I really do. I missed you
when you were gone, and I feared that I would never get to see you again, and be able to tell you, just
how much I love you..." Jack said softly. Ellie smiled. "Thank you..." She said softly. Ellie wasn't sure how
to respond to Jack's confession of his love for her. Moments later, she felt herself lying her head in Jack's
lap, and the actions felt familiar to her, as if she had done this before.
Maybe she had done this before. For some reason, Ellie felt herself falling into a deep sleep, and she did
so. 4 hours later, Ellie woke up. Her head was still resting comfortably in Jack's lap, and he was stroking
her hair gently, and Ellie loved it. "I love you, Jack." Ellie said softly. She was surprised, when she realized
what she had just said, and then smiled, knowing that somehow she had just gotten her memory back, and
just in time. Jack leaned down, and he kissed her.
"I love you too..." He paused. "Wait, Ellie?" Ellie smiled, and nodded. "Yes Jack. I've gotten my memory
back. I know that I have been walking around, acting ridiculous, for the past 2 months, and I'm sorry,
I just couldn't help it. Having amnesia messes with your head." Ellie said, and laughed softly. Jack nodded.
"I'm glad that you are gonna be back to normal now. I was afraid you would never love me anymore, since
you didn't remember anything."
Ellie nodded. Jack looked at Ellie. "Can I ask you something, Ellie?" Ellie nodded once more. "Did you remember
that you were pregnant? Or had you forgotten completely?" He asked her softly. Ellie shook her head. "I didn't
remember. But I just remembered before you told me, and I'm sorry, for forgetting about our baby." Jack hugged
his girlfriend gently around the waist. "It's not your fault. Like you said, the amnesia was messing with your head."
Jack said.
Ellie grabbed Jack's hand in her own. "I love you, and our baby, and I'm going to make sure that the two of
you always know it." She said, and a tear slipped down her cheek. Ellie felt bad, about not having been able
to remember their baby. She felt like a bad mother, and before she could say so to Jack, she felt his hand
on her face. Jack was gently wiping the tears away. "You're not a bad mother. You had amnesia, and you
couldn't help not remembering."
Jack said, understanding the way that she was thinking, and the way that she was feeling. Ellie grabbed
Jack's hand, the one that was on her face, and she brought it to her lips, gently kissing it, letting Jack
know she cared for him, letting him know that she loved him. Jack pulled Ellie close, and he brushed a
gentle kiss to her lips, glad to have his girlfriend back, both mentally, and physically, once again. Jack
was almost bursting with happiness.
When the kiss ended, Jack was still holding Ellie close. "I love you Ellie, I really do, and I wanna be
with you, and only you, for the rest of my entire life." He said softly, sincerely, to her. Ellie nodded,
"I want the same. I love you with every part of me, and if something happened to you, I don't know
what I would do with myself." She said to Jack, which wads the truth. Jack nodded. "Don't worry Ellie.
I will never leave you. I will always be there for you, always. Just know that I will be there." Jack said.
