Work Text:
Good and Evil Are Just Human Constructs, Baby ~or~ Is What Keeps Us Together>What Keeps Us Apart, Or Am I Just Playing the Fool For You?
by Anne Marsh
Good and Evil are just
Human constructs, so what is it
Baby
What is it that keeps me silent all these
Years go by and I have to wonder
I read Gabriel Garcia Marquez and think of the hundred years you spent
Locked away from me.
I want to run to you 'cause no one understands
I want to hold your hand 'cause you see me
I want to keep you near but baby I'm afraid
I'm afraid of
Falling, and that look in your eyes.
The lines between us blur in grey
Like looking through a stranger's glasses
And all I see is you.
What do the lines look like through yours?
Straight, jagged, bold or narrow?
Are they black or white or octamaroon
You read your Terry Pratchett and I my Robert Frost.
I have to believe the ties that bind are more than circumstance
Believe you cared the night the skies were red and I bled oh so blue.
Good and Evil are just
Human constructs, Baby, so why
Don't I say 'I love you'?
