Sonnets

Summary:

I'm going to stick my neck out and show you my sonnets, even if I should know better, considering the "competition" around here. I couldn't hold a candle to the rest of you poets, but please bear in mind that English is not my first language.

Sonnets
by Scarlet

I

My lover's eyes are brighter than the stars
They sparkle golden, green, and hazel brown
I meet his gaze, and strongly wish to drown
Until my self-control emotion bars.

My lover's lips are silken to my touch
And yield so easily unto my kiss.
And when he smiles, I feel it all too much
And all my training gladly I dismiss.

My captain's voice can be as hard as steel
As he commands his ship within the borders
Of Federation space, to high acclaim.

My lover's voice is something I can feel
When he, at last, has finished giving orders
And softly, gently, warmly speaks my name.

II

My lover's eyes are deep and dark as night
But there is starlight glittering inside,
A twinkle that he usually will hide
That sets my human soul ablaze with light.

His Vulcan strength is useful during day
As we face danger everywhere in space
And then, his strength will take my breath away
At night, when I delight in his embrace.

How could I live without him at my side?
I *would* not live -- he often saved my life.
I rarely thanked him, had to mind the store.

But when we touch, I soon forget my pride
And put aside all thoughts of work and strife.
He owns my heart, as no man did before.
