Alan Gets A Life

Agent Don Eppes entered his former home right around dinner time. His brother poked his curly head out of the kitchen at the sound of the front door closing.
“Hey, Charlie,” he greeted.
“Hey, Don,” Charlie responded casually.
“Where's Dad?” Don asked, glancing around. “I haven't seen him in a while.”
“He's in Vegas,” Charlie replied, heading back into the kitchen.
“Vegas?” Don pursued him through the doorway, puzzled and curious.
“Yeah,” Charlie said, stirring a pot of sauce on the stove. “You remember when we were trying to keep him away from Downtown, and I kept suggesting he go bowling?”
“Yeah,” Don said encouragingly, folding his arms and leaning against the counter. “He took you up on it, as I recall.”
“Well...” Charlie couldn't quite suppress the smirk in his voice. “He ended up joining a league, and they're competing in the regional championships this weekend.”
