THE VIRTUE
For years now I have waited patiently.
I sit back and watch you with them...
Never showing the jealousy,
the hurt,
the rejection I often feel.
You often take advantage of me.
Expecting me to be there,
when often you are not.
To comfort your hurts,
to ease a bruised ego,
to touch an aching heart.
And for you,
I do this.
But know also, that even the most patient person
has a limit
and soon,
I'll want what is rightfully mine.
