Lindsey's Encounter

Summary:

Angel Needs Lindsey's help

Work Text:

Disclaimer: I don't own the Dark Avenger or the scrumptious lawyer. And I don't get paid for any of this. Its all out of fun. The song 'Sweet Carolina Rain' is not my own. It belongs to Christian Kane and his band, Kane.

Lindsey sat on stage within the demon bar, Caritas. He came here often to sing away his troubles. The troubles that were caused by the people around him, mainly the people he worked with. Wolfram and Hart had been running him ragged. And he wasn't sure how much more of it he could take. Nevertheless, he wouldn't let himself crack under pressure. It just wasn't his style. Giving Lorne a nod he propped his guitar up on his knee and closed his eyes, starting the chords for his favorite song among all of them that he'd ever sang. 'Sweet Carolina Rain'....

'It's wetter when the spring rolls along
It's hotter than hell when we met last fall
It gets better and better every time we touch
A sticky situation we're in
Trapped in the car and it's raining again
And girl every time it stops
Lord, I miss it so much
And I want to take the top off
And throw it in the barn, man
And just put it in drive

And run in to that sweet Carolina rain
Yeah, that sweet Carolina rain

We drive on out to the river again
Just praying to God my ship comes in
I'm just a modern-day Tom but an old Huck Finn
Get my guit - pick her out the trunk
Get the pick, boy, just to bring me some luck
And I'm gonna sweep her off her feet like the southern wind
It's really coming down now
Yeah, well, it's really coming down now

That sweet Carolina rain
Yeah, that sweet Carolina rain

Soaking wet in the middle of the afternoon
A little honky-tonk in every blaring ride
Playing "David Allen Coe please come to Boston" tune
Yeah, reaching for a little piece of that pie
A brave man lost feel of the rain on his face
About to it eat up now
The preacher man's daughter said I was born again
I'm a little superstitious now
Driving down the road going a hundred and ten
Bragging to your mama's little boy he's a man
You swear you'll never feel that way again
Now, now, until you're back in that sweet Carolina rain
Yeah, that sweet Carolina rain
Ah, that sweet Carolina rain
Yeah, that sweet Carolina rain'

When he was done singing, his eyes scanned the crowd and he stopped dead. There standing in the doorway was none other than his rival, his archenemy, Angel. The one master vampire he'd been trying to stay away from. The one he couldn't handle seeing. Because he knew if he saw him, that he'd want him. And not in a way that a man should want another man. He kept denying that he lusted after Angel...but it was true. The master vampire made his insides do flips, made him just want to walk over to the older man and pledge his undying love, lust or whatever it was to him.

Sighing a bit to himself, he stuck his guitar in its case and headed over to the bar, sitting down. He did his best to ignore the brooding vampire. The lawyer was about ready to order when a $20 dollar bill was laid on the bar and he heard that unmistakable voice.

"Pig's blood for me and whatever he's having." Angel stated sitting down at the bar and paying no attention to the lawyer. He could smell the lust coming off Lindsey.

The lawyer sighed a bit to himself before looking at the bartender," Red Devil." Then he turned slightly in his chair to look at the vampire. "Thanks."

A growl erupted from the master vampire. He hated that he had to do this. However, he couldn't rest nor get anything done when Wolfram and Hart kept bothering him, kept sending their people after him. "I need your help, Lindsey."
