"You look too amused to be doing work," Clark teased as he walked
into Lex's sun filled office.

Lex leaned back with a small grin playing about his lips. "I have to
admit Clark, you caught me red handed."

"What are you doing?" Clark ventured, trying to look over the back of
the laptop, and almost succeeding.

"I was entertaining myself with a morphing program I have, while
waiting for a client to arrive." Lex's eyes twinkled with mischief.

"Oh, right, I've seen pictures from those. It's like where they take
a picture of a lion and a Hollywood star and merge them together."
Clark felt happy to be in the know around Lex. All too often,
whatever Lex talked about was miles over his head. But it was nice
not to be talked down to.

"Exactly…Let's say for instance you and Lana have children or you and
Lois, or Chloe. It can give you a glimpse of what your potential
offspring might look like."

"Might be funny," Clark nodded, coming around to the other side of
Lex's desk.

"Okay, here goes you and Lois…"

Clark made a face. Between his strong chin line's and Lois', the poor
kid looked like the true definition of a block head, with lips that
were so full they just looked ...odd. Clark shook his head. "Wow,
that's just awful."

Lex chuckled. "Agreed, now watch what happens with you and Chloe…"

This time the child's chin was over extended with a large nose,
giving it the look of one of those dogs that pointed toward things.
Clark had to smother a laugh. Lex grinned and nodded.

"Now, for the one we've all been waiting for…"

Clark watched with more than a little curiosity as the pictures
merged between him and Lana. The child had jet black hair, large lips
and Lana's almond shaped eyes. The ears were a little too large, but
otherwise the kid was beautiful. Lex smiled at his reaction. "It
makes you wonder if, as a male, we automatically seek out the mates
that would make the best looking offspring, doesn't it?"

A frown appeared on Clark's face. Lex was about to question him on it
when he was called away. He gestured toward the program with one
hand. "Feel free to play with the program Clark. This might take
awhile."

Clark stared at the picture on the screen. Yes, he and Lana would
make beautiful children togther but was that what he wanted? Lana
wanted a long term relationship. White picket fences were part of who
she was. If Clark were truthful with himself, he wanted more. Going
through the pictures and looking up nervously, he merged together
another set of pictures.

He smiled at the results. The cheeks were a little chubbier and the
hair a beautiful auburn color. Blue green eyes sparkled with
mischief. The chiseled facial structure of his own, that he always
hated, was softened and had more of a curve to it. A perfect nose sat
in the middle of an almost regal and proud visage. Clark smiled.

Clark was so entranced by the child's face that he failed to hear Lex
re-enter the room. "Good looking kid," Lex commented. Clark almost
jumped and a guilty look covered his face, before he could stop it.

Lex raised an eyebrow and before Clark realized what he was doing, he
pushed the button to cycle the pictures. "Clark…should I be afraid
for my virtue?" He leaned close, placing hands on Clark's shoulders
as he did so.

Clark closed his eyes and breathed in the heavenly scent that was Lex
Luthor, before his brain engaged that he should be saying something
right about now. "Clark?" the warm breath created by that word
ghosted over his ear and made him shiver.

Lex chuckled and nuzzled his cheek. "All this time I thought it was
just me," Lex whispered.

"Lex, please –" Clark's eyes had yet to open and he was breathing
rapidly, desperate for more.

"It will cost you," Lex teased kissing his cheek, nipping on his
earlobe and his jaw.

"Anything," Clark gasped.

"The truth Clark, if this goes any further there can be no lies
between us. I'll hand you a disc with enough to blackmail me in
return but we have to have the truth between us. This won't be a one
night stand. Legend Clark, remember?"

Clark's eyes opened. "We both need to be sitting down for this,"
standing on wobbly legs he walked over to the leather couch. Lex sat
down beside him and covered Clark's hands with his own. Clark shook
his head and looked around the room with his x-ray vision for any
recording devices.

Seeing none, he pulled out a hand to shake Lex's. "Hi, my name is Kal-
El and I'm from the planet Krypton."

Lex blinked rapidly, processing the information. Then a soft smile
overcame his features. "Hello Kal-El, it's nice to finally meet you.
How did you get here?"

"I came on a space ship on the day of the meteor shower," Clark
replied. He decided to leave off the guilt he was suffering.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Lex asked; hurt coloring his tone of
voice.

"My folks mostly and I was scared." Clark shrugged.

Lex smiled. "I'm about to kiss an alien."

It was the first of what was to be many, touching both of them in its
passion, tenderness and need. And in their lives together to come,
sometimes more separate than together, depending on work and Clark's
life as Superman, they never forgot this day. Or this kiss.

It was the stuff of legends.

The end
