A gorgeous, gorgeous fic. You capture the flavour of the show so well, and the characters are ALL perfectly themselves. Loved the fact that, for once, the supposedly-unrequited love was on Wilson's side! Well done on this!

I really enjoyed that. You showed a great use of the secondary characters that make House such a fun show and the plot built in an interesting and believable way.

This was awesome. You nailed all the characters voices and dynamic between each of them. Funny and yet with a believeable dose of conflic/panic re: Wilson's potential departure. I like, I like.

I didn't get it last time, not complete. That House was willing to do everything he had to keep Wilson, and in the end discovered so suddenly that he didn't have to do anything. Quite beautiful.

Oh my GOD, is this fic GOOD!

The structure, story and plot are just spectacular. Slash with story - a miracle! But no, seriously, this has to be one of the best fics I have ever read. The intelligence of the show clearly runs in the veins of this fic, it could almost be a few scenes in an episode, it's so believable!

The dialogue is fantastic, and the way the scenes are drawn out. The way Wilson retorts to House. This scene in particular really struck me:

"Greg," he said quietly, hands still resting on the lapels, "Have you ever wanted something you couldn't have?"

"No, I don't have daily fantasies of having my leg back, why do you ask?" he said bitterly.

Wilson's hands dropped. "Sorry, I guess that was stupid." He turned away.

"Yeah, but I'm the one who got you drunk, so I'll take part of the blame," House said, cursing himself.

People seem to want to humanize House even more in fic, but this retort of his is just perfect. House wouldn't console Wilson, he would agree that it was a stupid question and Wilson would accept that.

I also loved the final scene with House and Wilson, and their first kiss. I would find House reluctant at first to the idea of their kissing - or doing anything, really - but going through he would realize that it was what he wanted.

You kept me guessing what House was doing (getting the ducklings to research the staff) until the very end, much like an episode.

All in all, fantastic work. You should keep writing! Oh please, oh pleaaaase?!

I loved the interaction between Cuddy and House. And her not being shocked. Also, it was great to see how good an oncologist and department head Wilson is. And yay for Cameron for seeing what House couldn't.

Coming back to add...

Of course, just clocked the name Shalott - you wrote the 'weather' trilogy for HP didn't you? One of the first I ever read, and still one I love. So multi-talented!

I'm in an intern research position at Johns Hopkins and can say without a doubt that it would be wonderful to have Dr.s Wilson and House join the staff lol

I really love this story and keep coming back to it. Your characterizations are spot on. I love the fact that House is the one clueless about the attraction; it's usually Wilson.

One of my favorite stories. I love your sense of subtle humour. Twenty eight women. (grins and shakes head) God, I love Wilson and House. They are such a delight.

I have read this story between seven and eight times during the last several days, and I have enjoyed it so much each time. The interactions between the characters are wonderful, and I'm captivated by the way House is so desperately scrambling to figure things out.

Ah, I loved it^_^ I tried to explain WHY I liked the story so much, but I think it was because it was sad, then anxious, then happy. I came away with a smile on my face after reading the fic. Thanks for writing it!

Oh, man, this makes me so happy I'm not sure I can express my level of glee. Everyone's perfectly in-character: Cuddy, Cameron, and especially House and Wilson.

Plus all those great little details: House sticking out his cane to stop the waiter, "Have you ever wanted something you couldn't have," House's realization that he has to be what Wilson's been wanting, that heart-stuttering moment where House realizes that his panic was all for naught.

Yay.

Just want to say that I love your writing. You managed to keep House in character, while showing a more emotional side of him. I really enjoyed reading that :)

Damn, you're good. Er. I mean, the story's good. Spot on characterizations, and this? "Nice oncologists are as common as unicorns. He probably charms them with his lack of sadistic evil." Perfect. Straight to the recs page.

I didn't think it was possible to write House as being remotely sexual or emotional and make it work, but you did it! This story is amazing, neither Greg or James ever break character and it is low-key, but damn, it works.

Thank you!

That had to be the best House-fic I've ever read. So brilliant! I love how House made the ducklings do some research and-- gah! It was just so lovely. You have a great grasp over all the characters. I bow to you. ^_^

Aaiieeee!!!!!

Ahem.

Okay, so that was just about perfect. Seriously. I loved the whole thing -- the set-up, the panic, the cluelessness -- wow. The dialog/narrative was spot-on, as they say.

Fabulous job.

Obviously this story is wonderful--I've read pretty much every fic you've ever written and loved them all. The most impressive part of this particular story is how natural the dialog seemed. House is so in character it makes me think I missed this episode. Very, *very* well done, and I hope you stay a while in this fandom.

What a lovely fic! Great pacing, and I especially liked the quasi-parallel with the differential diagnosis on the show, as the team tries to find out what the "case" is all about. The characterization is excellent too. Thank you for this story!

Oh my god, oh my god the squeeing. XD XD That was PERFECT. I'm grinning like a damn idiot right now. The voices, the entire situation, that last scene! You rock the house, which was not meant to be a pun but now that I've typed it I am declaring it to be one anyway.

Damn, man. Go you. I can't even form coherent feedback.
From: Nafs

Awesome story! I loved that just like in an episode, we got a mystery to unravel, even though it wasn't medical. And that Cuddy had a reason for wanting Wilson to stay, one that made sense.

Anytime you feel like writing more...

This story was absolutely _brilliant_. I have been absolutely craving a good sized House fic with a plot and good characterization and wittiness, and _boy_ did you deliver! Thank you!

And now I shall go and hope and pray that your muse inspires you with more House/Wilson fic, because _god_, this was good.

~Nix
