The Glitter Jungle:
Fiction:

Consequences
Blast from the past. Sorority Boys, Adina

Finally. College is over. Adina is free to roam the earth with her new
persona and without anyone annoying who might know her, him, whatever.

She's having the time of her life. She has a flat of her own, and a million
friends of all the genders of the rainbow. She was out, and she was about.
She was queer, she was here, and she was fucking fabulous.

When there was a knock on the door, she just opened it. She didn't bother
to change, or to remove the makeup, or to dress down. Just threw the door
wide open. Her parents never came to visit anyway; all her neighbours knew
her to be what she was. There was no need to hide.

"Hi."

"Hello...?" Adina vaguely recognised the face, but had no idea who the girl
was. Blond, about Adina's age, but dressed completely different; one word
that came to Adina's mind was "drab", the other was "dull". Also, the words
"trailer trash" popped in uninvited. Maybe it was the baby the girl held in
her arms with distaste. Maybe the large ugly bag with the flowers print.

"Adam?" The girl squinted. Adina nodded without even thinking. "I guess you
don't remember me."

Adina smiled politely, uncertainly. She really didn't.

"Well, I changed. And so did you." The tone of voice did ring a bell with
Adina, but she couldn't quite place it.

The girl pushed the baby towards her, and Adina took it instinctively.

"Congratulations. You're a dad." The girl turned to leave. Adina stepped forward.

"Hey, wait! Hey... what?"

The girl smiled at him. "I'm Barbie. From Tri Pi?" Adina's eyes widened in
horror. "And this is your baby. And your problem." She turned and ran down
the stairs.

Adina was left standing there, with the baby in her arms and the baby's bag
at her feet.
