The BLTS Archive - The Awakening by RvrendJim (rvrendjim@aol.com) -- Captain Janeway stirred from the deepest of sleeps, awakened by the incessant ringing of her door chime. She got out of bed, fumbled in the darkness for her nightgown, and with the remnants of a dream not yet finished still lingering in her mind she called out to her late night visitor. "Come in, " Janeway called. The doors of her cabin hissed open, and through groggy eyes Janeway saw Kes hurry inside. Even in the darkness Janeway could see that something was wrong. The younger woman trembled like a frightened child, sweat dampened her blond hair, turning it dark brown at the temples. Her simple nightshirt was slung to her well defined form. "Kes, what's wrong?" Janeway asked. "Captain, " Kes said, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I've had the most... terrifying experience. I was in my quarters, asleep, and suddenly... my mind opened." "I beg your pardon?" Janeway frowned. "It's difficult to explain, " Kes said. "Particularly in light of the fact that I'm not sure I understand it myself. It was as if... for a brief moment... the entire universe came flooding into my mind. I understood everything... and then it was gone. It was more than a dream, Captain. It was real... at least, I think it was." Kes sighed tiredly. "I feel so empty." "That must have been a terrifying experience, " Janeway said. Kes nodded. "It was. I had no control. I lost myself in the sensation." "That's isn't always a bad thing, " Janeway said. "Sometimes we need to lose ourselves in the moment, to open ourselves to new possibilities." "Perhaps, " Kes said. She looked deep into Janeway's eyes, seeing something there she didn't expect to see, feeling something she didn't expect to feel. Kes leaned over and kissed her, a gentle kiss, a noncommittal kiss to see if she had read the moment correctly, had understood the other's intentions, and as Janeway shrugged out of her nightgown Kes knew that she had indeed understood. It started slowly. Kes slipped out of her nightshirt and slid into bed, feeling the warmth radiating from the other woman's body. She kissed Janeway on the chin, slowly working her way down her neck as she unbuttoned the captain's pajama top. Moving with measured determination, Kes caressed Janeway's breast, touching them, kissing them, cupping them in her hands. The feel of them was new and exciting and yet familiar, somehow. Janeway reached down and fondled her own breast, feeling the other woman's warm breath dancing across her skin, as light as a feather tickling her bosom. Kes continued working her way down, easing the captain out of her pajama bottoms. Kes sat for a moment, gazing at the captain's nakedness, taken by the firmness of her body. The sight of the captain stirred something deep inside her, an intense passion she had never felt before, a purpose she had never known. She moved in slowly, kissing Janeway's inner thigh... teasingly moving closer and closer. The sheets ruffled as Janeway squirmed on the bed. "Oh, Kes, " Janeway muttered, her voice low and throaty. Her body tingled, her flesh crawled...alive for the first time all over again. Kes stayed there forever, absorbed by the other woman's scent. The captain rolled her head back, her muscles tightened, and her body convulsed as the universe exploded around her. Kes crawled to meet the captain face to face, their gazes locked, and in that moment they were attuned to each other, both knowing exactly what the other wanted. Janeway rolled on top of Kes and kissed her, tasting Kes and herself. She arched her back, pressing her body against the younger woman's body, their moist inner flesh rubbing, the friction it caused making her mind reel. Kes reached down and found that part of her that felt neglected and touched it, working it in rhythm with the captain until they were both clinging to each other, their bodies trembling with ecstasy. Afterwards, they lay together in the darkness. "I feel much better, Captain," Kes said. Janeway laughed. "I'm glad I could help... and I think you can call me Kathryn." "Kathryn, " Kes repeated softly. They smiled at each other. The night was only beginning. --- The End
