The BLTS Archive- A Man, Three Drabbles by monkee (wiecek@earthlink.net) --- Three drabbles which explore what might have happened if Janeway had been standing closer to someone other than Tuvok in 'Critical Care.' (Mild spoilers for same.) Disclaimers: Paramount owns Star Trek Voyager and all its characters. --- A Man: Harry --- Desperate, Janeway scanned the bridge. Aha! "I already have a man," she purred, stepping up to Harry's station and laying her hand on top of his. This seemed to satisfy the woman, and she told them where to find the elusive Gar. Afterwards, Janeway quickly released the hapless ensign, who had turned an alarming shade of red. "Sorry, Harry," she said, sheepishly. "Harry," Paris chuckled, "As acting CMO, I advise you to start breathing again." Beginning to enjoy the poor boy's discomfort, Janeway leaned over his console. "Yes, at ease, Harry," she said, with a wink. "Before you sprain something." --- A Man: Paris --- "I already have a man," she purred, wrapping her arms around a startled Tom Paris at the helm. This seemed to satisfy the woman, and she told them where to find the elusive Gar. Afterwards, she quickly released Paris. "Good God," she muttered. "I'm not ever going to live that down, am I." "Oh, come on," he said, waggling his eyebrows suggestively, "it wasn't THAT bad, was it?" They were interrupted by a low, menacing snarl from the engineering station. "No," she admitted softly, glancing warily at B'Elanna, "but I like my internal organs right where they are, thank you." --- A Man: Chakotay --- "I already have a man," she said, reaching back to take Chakotay's hand. Without hesitation, Chakotay stepped forward and wrapped an arm possessively around her waist, pulling her close. This seemed to satisfy the woman, and she told them where to find the elusive Gar. Afterwards, Janeway turned her head slowly, her expression alternating between wry amusement and a deadly glare. Paris and Kim struggled not to smile. "Unhand me, Commander," she said, her voice low and even. Chakotay grinned. "Come on, Kathryn," he said, releasing her. "Surely you didn't expect me to let an opportunity like THAT go by." --- The End
