Beta thanks: Leah poked me about a couple of punctuation points, and gave me the title for this part. And told me to post, already. --- Malcolm caught Trip’s hand as he reached out, wrapping his fingers around the other man’s and returning the pressure, strong and steady. He stroked his thumb comfortingly along Trip’s, their mingled sweat making skin glide against skin, as they finally shuddered to a halt, rocking against one another in the aftermath. Their interactions had never been frictionless. They'd rubbed each other the wrong way too many times to count--until they finally started rubbing each other the right way… The aftershocks running through Malcolm's body attested to how well that friction had just served them both. His free hand was still slick with gel, and they were both a sticky mess, but watching awareness of his surroundings slowly seep back into Trip's face made such concerns trivial. When those blue eyes became focused again, Trip looked up at Malcolm in wonder, and drew a hand down his temple. Malcolm had to smile at him, and press a kiss to his fingers as they trembled ever so slightly. "Was that all right, then?" Trip's eyes widened, and he pulled Malcolm down urgently, although his kiss was gentle, almost drugged. He felt Trip panting, little gusts across his chin. "'All right?' That was incredible. Feel free to do that again, anytime." His voice was low, sending a thrill through Malcolm that his satiation didn't mitigate. He chuckled at the awe in Trip's voice--he felt the same, every time Trip looked at him the way he was now. Amazed that he could possibly have done anything to deserve this kind of happiness. He’d wanted to return the favor, let Trip know just how much he was loved, but the tenderness in Trip’ s touch was almost his undoing. He dropped his eyes, a little embarrassed, and concentrated on the way Trip's chest hair curled with perspiration. "I thought I'd lost you for a minute there." "You did." Trip dropped a soft kiss on his forehead, lips sliding over skin. "But you helped me find my way back, too." Malcolm looked up, then, into those warm blue eyes, and melted all over again. --- The End
