The BLTS Archive - Merry Christmas, Dear Doctor by JocelynL --- It is slash and if two men kissing in not for you, please don't read this. All of the characters and places belong to Paramount. I am making no money on this story. --- I smiled at the enthusiasm on the young man's face. He had just finished telling me about a holiday he called Christmas. Apparently it was a large holiday on Earth. His exquisite brown eyes were laughing and I couldn't help smiling. Since my exile from Cardassia this young beautiful man had been my friend, but never before had his eyes shown so much emotion. I listened as he described Christmas trees, fruit cake and mistletoe. I raised my eye at the meaning of the mistletoe and he turned a delightful red. "It sounds most appealing, Doctor," I said. He just blushed harder. I smiled over this small victory, and stood up. Apparently though just as I was getting up Chief O'Brien was walking over. He tripped over me and landed on the table. "Bloody Cardie," he muttered and straightened up." Julian, I just came to talk to you about decorating OPS. We took a vote and decided that you should do it" My sweet Doctor had such a look of confusion on his face that I felt a bit sorry for teasing him earlier, a bit but not a lot. "I'll help you with the lights of course," he amended. "What did you vote?!" The good doctor asked. "When we had the secret meeting you knew nothing about." O'Brien smiled, and Julian frowned "But..." he stammered "Tomorrow at 07:00 hundred" "But it's my off day," the doctor wailed. O'Brien shrugged and walked away. "Would you like my help, Doctor?" I asked. He said nothing for a moment then said, "I could use all the help I can get." He slumped on the table and I left him there. --- True to my word I stood outside OPS at 07:00 hundred. Also true to his word, Chief O'Brien was there. The Doctor came about 3 minutes later. We walked into a deserted OPS and I noticed a few more extra boxes than the usual. The chief stooped to open one. "Here's the tree." Then, as he moved to another box, "the lights" Doctor Bashir moved to a smaller box and bent down. I had to close my eyes to keep from staring at his lovely soft hips. "Here's the decorations," he said "Fine, fine put up the tree and then call me. I have better things to do than watch you put a tree. Besides, I'm on duty," O'Brien said, and then left. The Doctor smiled and opened the tree box. "We'll start with this" It was a strange experience for me, putting up an artificial tree, but I managed. When we were done, he called Chief O'Brien back to put up the lights. The Chief was swearing and muttering as he left for the second time. "What do we do now?" I asked, trying not to sound too stupid. "Now we put up the mistletoe and hang garlands." Doctor Bashir picked up what I guessed was a garland. It was long and red. I also picked one up and taped it to the wall. "That's right!" In ten minutes we managed to hang about 10 garlands. "This place looks different," I commented. "Yes and we're almost done. I just have to hang the mistletoe over the door." He stood on his tippy-toes, but still couldn't reach the top of the door. "Let me," I said, walking over to the now empty Christmas tree box. I pulled it over and then stood on it. Doctor Bashir handed the mistletoe up to me and I hung it up. Stepping off the box, I smiled. "We're done," I said. "Didn't take as long as I thought it would." "No" "Uh, Garak..." "Yes?" "You're standing under the mistletoe" "Really?" With that I firmly grabbed him by the shoulders and kissed him deeply. After a few moments, I pulled away. "Dear Doctor," I murmured, "Merry Christmas." --- The End
