The BLTS Archive - "Ready and Willing" by jm (itsjustjm@yahoo.com) --- Disclaimer: The world of Star Trek is owned by Paramount. I am but a fan interacting with it. Not for profit. Beta: Farfalla. Thanks! Notes: This was written for Farfalla. :-) She will get something better someday, I hope! It's based off of the fifth Star Trek movie, The Final Frontier. David Loughery wrote the screenplay of that film. I used a few lines from it. Feedback: any comments welcome --- It should have been a time of great tension. The ship was under the control of an invading force. Its destination was the barrier around the center of the universe, a place no ship was said to be able to pass through safely. The captain, first officer, and chief medical officer were being held captive. But she felt no worry over any of this. A deep inner peace had replaced any earlier anxiety she may have been feeling. That gave her pause--had she been worried about the ship's situation before? Hmm. She couldn't recall at the moment. It probably wasn't important. But how did she come to find such peace? It--it had something to do with pain. That sounded about right. Sharing old pain, or something. Yet that didn't make any sense. Why would she want to share pain? Pleasure was so much better. My, what a splendid idea, she thought. Time to go find Pavel... Oh, wait. Didn't she hear that Scotty had been brought up to sickbay? It would hardly be right to leave him there without checking in on him. Just to make sure that he was all right. Only a quick visit, then she could take care of herself. There he was, lying there unconscious. Men always looked so nicely vulnerable like that. Perhaps she could just make him more comfortable... Oh, he was starting to stir now. "Easy Scotty, you're back with us." How odd. Her voice seemed to take extra time to leave her mouth once she thought the words in her mind. Scotty was speaking now. No, he was wrong. It was important somehow to let him know, so he could be at peace too. Why was it so hot in here? So warm...burning up. He needed to know about the important journey ahead of them. Or, was it that he needed to know how much she...wanted him? Did she? Such feelings, for someone... Oh yeah, she wanted something. Who had she been looking for again? Scotty was speaking again. This time she focused harder. "Maybe when I'm a wee bit stronger. I dinna think I could take it in my present condition." And then he said more quietly, "Or yours." Well, he was leaving. Just like that. And she didn't even get a chance to tell him... he needed to find true peace. No, not peace-- she had been looking for pleasure, right? She was floating, and it was so hot. Her mind was here with her, but not. I see outside myself, she thought happily. Warm friendly energy seemed to be directed at her now. Slowly she turned around, feeling pieces of herself rush to catch up. It made her giddy. "Pavel dear! It's so good to see you!" Uhura exclaimed. "I came here to check on Mestair Scott. Vhere is he?" Chekov asked. "He left. I don't think he wanted to play. Are you ready for a little fun, Pavel?" "I am ready for anything you can dish out, lovely lady." He smiled and reached out to her. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear." --- They had never felt such colors before. --- The End
