The BLTS Archive - Love Without Age Gap by Allison Kulp (cardassianfire@yahoo.com) --- Feedback is always cool, as I only own the action figures and not the characters. As always, anyone can archive my scribbles, ask first though. --- "Garak, have you ever considered our age difference? ", Julian asked over lunch one afternoon. "What do you mean by that?", said Garak quizzically. "Well, you're nearly twenty-five years my senior. Doesn't that ever cross your mind?" Julian picked at his plomeek soup. "Humans and your preoccupations with a number. You weren't complaining about my age last night. If I recall, your...stamina didn't last as long as mine." Julian sighed to himself - sometimes the charms of having a multi- orgasmic lover could wear thin. "That's not what I meant. If we decide to continue with this relationship, surely we'll both be affected by the passage of time..." "Ah, yes. I understand now. You're worried I'll discard you for a younger man as time begins to ravage you." "Garak." "That you'll be left desperately trying to find someone to care for you in your golden years, while I'm off gallivanting across the stars with my latest conquest.." "Garak! That's not it at all! After all, with my genetic enhancements I should retain all my faculties for somewhat longer than the average human", said Julian, slightly annoyed. "Ah", said Garak leaning back from the table slightly and folding his hands. "So, you're worried about what others might think. As you grow older, and you become wrinkled and bent over with age, what would people think? Poor Garak, devoted to that doddering old human. Yes, that might put a restriction on my social life." He sighed to himself. "Have you considered yet any plastic surgery? To get rid of those little lines around your eyes? It`s best to start now before it gets out of hand. " "That's not it either," growled Julian, trying to steal a glance in the underside of his spoon to see just how noticeable those lines were. Garak smirked. Julian continued "It's just that, well, here I am, approaching middle age, and you are.." "Approaching middle age myself." "Garak, come on..." "Really, my dear, at times I am astounded by your lack of knowledge about my species. Cardassians have a natural lifespan closer to Vulcans than humans. So, yes, I am nearing middle age, and early middle age at that." He reached out and took the spoon from Julian, grasping the doctor's hand. "You of all people should understand how Cardassians appreciate maturity. You have managed to both be mature beyond your years while keeping the eagerness and curiosity of youth. And those are some of the reasons I adore you." Julian reached out and held Garak's hands in his. "Garak, love, I'm glad that this isn't a problem." The tailor smiled. "But", Julian continued, "I really do need some good Cardassian medical reference books. I didn't even know about your people's average lifespan." "Really, aren't you having fun discovering as we go along?" "Garak, I need some good medical textbooks, please?", sighed Julian. "Fine, fine, I'll see what I can get. Something along the lines of The Care and Feeding of Cardassians or Cardassians for Beginners?" "Whatever you can find," chuckled Julian. "I'd much rather find out about the intricacies of the Cardassian respiratory system from a padd than have to muddle through it if you're ever in any danger. For both of our sakes. And I can concentrate on mastering Elim Garak, a very interesting subject indeed." "Mmm." Garak squeezed Julian's hands and stood up from the table. "Another lesson tonight ?" "2100. My quarters. And if you have any books illustrating, oh, say the techniques of pleasuring Cardassians, bring those along. Especially if they have pictures.", said Julian. --- The End
