The BLTS Archive - Chronicles of Shoreleave: Sojourn in France by Aditi (aditi43@hotmail.com) --- Seventh in the Chronicles of Shoreleave Feedback: Yes please. Archive: ASCEM, others please ask. Disclaimer: I'm just hoping to provide some people with some enjoyable reading and am only hoping for some good feedback in return. (yes, I do think that sometimes Kirk and Spock might sometimes take leave away from each other for various reasons - as difficult as it may be! ;-). The letters will not necessarily be in sequential order according to stardate - there might be gaps but don't worry about them. I hope you all enjoy! --- Message encoded for: Spock, Commander, USS Enterprise Location: ShiKahr, Vulcan Received from: Kirk, James T., Captain, USS Enterprise Location: Paris, France, Terra Hey Spock - I'm thinking of you. How are you doing there in ShiKahr? I went to visit the museum of Picasso today, but it was closed so me and my nephew, we just walked around and then went to a Greek restaurant for lunch. We went to see this woman who sang tangos in a small amphitheater at the Opera de Bastilles. It was interesting, but I was dozing off for most of the performance...guess I haven't quite caught up on my sleep yet since leaving the ship. I bought you a card from Paris; I'll send it to you tomorrow. My mom returned to Riverside today - I hope that she will be all right and that they'll finally diagnose her there. My mom cries a lot, I think she is tired of the pain and a little afraid. I wish you were here; I miss you a whole bunch. I am going to look for the supernova, but I'm not sure how well I'll be able to see it, it's kind of hazy, cloudy, and polluted in Paris. Paris is still very beautiful however. The food is of course far beyond American. I wish you were here to try the baguettes, the croissants with chocolate, the cheeses, the wines. It's pretty amazing all the stuff you can get here. We live in a pretty decent apartment. It's two-storied (although the top floor has pretty low ceilings so I am not sure that counts). My aunt is as usual very easily upsettable by anyone or anything, but kind and generous. I wish she didn't take things so seriously though and I wish my uncle would be more patient with her, but "C'est la vie" - or as you would say - "What is, is". People drive here like maniacs of course, but that's so for any big city. Of course Paris is not as sunny as Iowa, and also the tall buildings on every side often prevent you from seeing the sun. But there is some magical beauty about the city...just so many gorgeous things. I think I'm going to Place de Concorde for New Year's. My uncle and I are still not sure what to do about Peter though. I don't mind living with family for a while, but I know that long term I now prefer living alone (or at least for now) or of course with you would be nice, too. I can't even say why we argue on the ship. Life is too great to waste away arguing, but we've both heard this before and still can't come to terms with it. Next time I visit Paris I hope it's with you. It can be the most romantic place in the galaxy I bet - all the little coffee shops, beautiful surroundings, awful service (well, maybe not that), but anyway, it'd be great. All right, well I'm going to go to sleep. Love you very, very much. Send you kisses, hugs, and butt massages. See you soon t'hyla. All my love, Jim --- The End
