Tom paused before he rang the chime announcing his presence to the person inside the quarters, steeling himself for the ordeal that he was sure that he was going to face inside. Finally, he got up the nerve and waited for a response.

"Come," said the occupant, so he entered.

"Tom! This is a surprise."

"B'Elanna, hi."

B'Elanna got up from the couch she was sitting on. "Tom, are you all right?" she asked, walking over to him. "You seem kind of tense."

"That's an understatement." He took her arm and guided her back to the couch to sit. "I have something to tell you, and I don't know how you'll react."

B'Elanna took his hand in one of hers. 'Tom, you can say anything to me, so just say whatever it is, all right?"

"All right." He took a deep breath and prayed that his hand would continue to stay attached to his arm. "B'Elanna, I think we should start seeing each other people."

B'Elanna dropped his hand. "Well, I must admit, that's the last thing I was expecting to hear." She drew back to the opposite end of the couch and folded her arms across her chest. "Why?"

"Well, we're not as close as we used to be, we don't spend much time together."

"And?"

Tom sighed. He should've known that he couldn't hide anything from her. "And. . . well, this is going to sound silly, but. . . I've met someone else."

"Someone else." B'Elanna's face showed no reaction. "May I ask who?"

"I don't know if that's something you should know."

"I'm going to find out anyway," she pointed out reasonably. "I think I have a right to know firsthand, not through the rumor mill."

"You're right," Tom sighed. "It's Harry."

Then B'Elanna did something completely unexpected. She smiled. "Tom, do you think I'm completely stupid, or blind?"

"No. Of course not," he stammered, still surprised at this turn of events.

"I've seen this coming for awhile, now. I've seen the way we've drifted apart. And I've seen how you look at Harry when you think no one else is looking, and the way he looks at you. I was wondering if you were going break us off yourself, or if you were going to wait for me to get fed up and do it myself."

"B'Elanna, I never meant this to happen. I never meant to hurt you."

She slid over next to him and put her arm around him. "I know you didn't, and if you had had a choice, it would've never happened. But feelings are tricky. You can't stop whether they form or die, all you can do is go along for the ride." She hugged him. "I'm happy for you. It was obvious to me you really weren't happy with me anymore. If Harry is what it takes to make you happy, then have him. I'm your friend, first and foremost. All I ever wanted was for you to be happy."

Tom hugged her back. "Thanks, B'Elanna," he whispered.

She drew back and playfully swatted him. "No go find him and tell him he's all yours now." She paused, then said, "I really can't imagine him being happy having to hide like that. I'm surprised he did."

Tom smiled. "Well, he had been, but he stopped. Said that he couldn't be happy the way it was. He didn't force me to chose, but he knew, better than me, that something would have to give."

"That's Harry. Deeper than any ten of us. Now get out of here."

"Yes sir!"

Tom found Harry right where he expected to--in the holodeck, strolling around Fair Haven. Tom ran up to him. "Hey, Harry, wait up!"

Harry turned at the summons, and smiled wanly when he saw it was Tom. "Hi, Tom."

"Harry, I think we have to talk. Walk with me?"

"All right."

'Well, don't sound so enthusiastic. Come on." He grabbed Harry's arm and began hauling him until Harry started walking under his own power. Nodding greetings to the crewmembers they passed, the two men walked in silence until they reached the cliffs again.

Harry sighed. "All right, Tom, I let you drag me out here, now talk."

Tom looked right at Harry. "You were right."

"Fine, I was right. Is that all?"

"No that's not all. Even though you didn't force me to make a choice, you let me know that one had to me made."

Harry's voice was very steady. "I. . . hope you and B'Elanna are happy together." He turned to walk away, but once again Tom's hand on his arm stopped him.

"No! Don't you get it? I just broke up with her. I love you, Harry, not her, and I couldn't pretend otherwise, not anymore." He laughed dryly. "She knew anyway. She would've ended it sooner or later."

Harry was floored. "You ended it? For. . . me?"

"Yes for you, everything in me is for you."

"Tom, I. . ."

Tom placed a finger over his lips. "Don't talk," he whispered. "Don't think, just be." He kissed Harry, gently at first, then deeper, with all the passion in him. Harry responded eagerly, wrapping his arms around Tom. Finally, Tom pulled back. "Do you want to continue this here, or try to get back to one of our quarters?"

"In the condition I'm in? I think we're better off here."

Tom smiled. "Good, because I don't want to let go of you for a second." His smile grew bigger as he said, "Computer, increase fog by twenty percent." He looked down at Harry's confused expression. "You don't want anyone watching, do you?" As Harry shook his head, Tom pulled him down to the ground. "Harry, I want you more than anything else in the Delta quadrant--or any other quadrant, for that matter."

Harry smiled up at Tom. "Then take what's yours," he invited huskily." Tom didn't waste any time taking him up on the offer. He quickly stripped off Harry's period costume, saying, "I love the way you look in this, but I like you better in nothing at all."

Harry smirked. "Does that mean I have to explain my lack of uniform to the bridge crew? 'No, I do have a uniform, Captain, but Tom likes me naked.'"

"No, you'll be naked only for me." He moved sensuously against him and Harry moaned.

"Tom, now, please," Harry begged.

Tom was happy to oblige. He swiftly moved down Harry's body to take his hard cock in his mouth, taking it all at once. The shriek that Harry let out was truly impressive. "Tom, I--ohhhhh." He was quickly reduced to incoherent moans and whimpers of pleasure. Within minutes, he was coming, hard. When mental function returned, Harry asked, "How long do we have until we go on duty?"

"About fifteen minutes."

"Good. Just enough time for you to fuck me."

Tom swallowed, hardening even more at Harry's words. He so rarely expressed what he wanted that directly. "That's what you want?'

"Yes."

"We don't have any lube."

"I want it hard and fast."

"Ohh Harry. If you're not careful, I'll come right now."

"No, come in me."

Tom shed his own clothing faster then he would've thought possible. "All right." He grasped Harry's hips. "If hard and fast is what you want--" he plunged in, wringing a yell from Harry, "then hard and fast is what you'll get." He thrust into Harry's body, unable to think anymore at the sensations he was receiving from that tight warmth. Harry was moving against him, trying to get Tom deeper into him. All too soon, yet soon enough, considering they had somewhere to be, Tom was coming, filling Harry up. At the feel of Tom coming in him, Harry came again as well, crying out Tom's name. Tom collapsed on Harry, trying to get his breath back. When they could move, Tom said, "Much as I don't want to, we have to go."

Harry sighed and stood up. Pulling his clothes back on, he said, "Yeah, and I have to change into my uniform first."

Just as Harry was about to leave, Tom grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. "So, what did you think of our first time?" he asked.

Harry looked at him. "Tom, we have done this before."

"Yes, but this is the first time when I belonged only to you."

Harry melted. Returning the hug, he said, "It was perfect. You're perfect for me." Harry then pulled away, saying, "I have to change."

"Meet me later in my quarters, say, around 2100?"

Harry smiled. "I'll be there, you can count on it."
