Tom woke up and rolled over. He watched for a moment as Harry finished making breakfast at the fire. As he watched he couldn't but help think about the crash that had landed them on this God forsaken planet. Tom supposed that the planet wasn't really all that bad, but being stuck here with Harry wasn't all that fun. He supposed that he should be glad that it was his best friend he was going to have spend the next few days or weeks alone with until Voyager found them. However, Tom didn't know where he was going to get the strength to keep his hands off of Harry. For months Tom had been growing aware of just how strong his feelings were for Harry.

At first Tom was surprised to realize that he was attracted to another man. It hadn't happened before and he had assumed that meant he was heterosexual. However, apparently it just meant that he hadn't met the right guy. Looking back on it, Tom realized he never allowed another man to get close enough to him, so he was never tempted. However, Harry had become his best friend, and probably his first real friend. Growing up the son of an admiral wasn't always easy, no matter what other people thought. After having more than a few people try to be his friend because of who his father was, left Tom unable to trust easily. Then, after the accident and being sent to prison, no one really wanted to get past the walls of mistrust that Tom had put up. At least, until Tom met Harry.

From the first Harry was willing to look at Tom and see not the admiral's son or the convict. Instead, Harry gave him his friendship without thinking about whether or not being Tom's friend would help or hurt his career. That was when Tom began to learn to trust again. At least a few select people. Over time he found other friends, but Harry remained the most important one.

When he first noticed how sexually attractive Harry was, Tom thought that was all there was to it, just sex. And so, he decided the best thing to do was ignore it. After all, it wasn't worth destroying the best friendship he had ever had over. But, eventually, he realized that he was also emotionally attracted to Harry, and not as a friend, even a best friend. Tom finally admitted to himself that he was in love with Harry. That, in fact, he had been for a long time, maybe even from the start.

But, Harry never gave any indications that he might feel the same and, as far as Tom knew, had never been involved with a man. So, Tom didn't see any point in telling Harry how he felt, as he was sure it would only put a strain on their friendship if he knew. Now, though, they were stuck down there without any distractions and Tom didn't know how he could keep Harry from noticing how he felt.

Well, I've managed so far. Hopefully, I can continue to hide my feelings, thought Tom as he got up to eat.

Harry watched as Tom got up, wondering what was wrong. It wasn't just being stuck down here, Tom had been distant for quite a while. Every time Harry started to ask, Tom managed to avoid the question. Apparently, Tom just didn't want to talk about it. That upset Harry, as he had thought they were close enough that Tom would know he could tell Harry anything. But, it seemed that Tom didn't agree. Harry, however, had decided while watching Tom sleep earlier to find out exactly what was bothering him. He was sure that now that Tom couldn't distract him with work, or avoid being alone with him by inviting B'Elanna along, he would be able to get to the bottom of things.

Most of that day Tom managed to avoid talking with Harry by the simple tactic of exploring the region alone. When he got back to their campsite, however, he found Harry waiting for him. Harry was determined to talk to Tom and wasn't willing to take no for an answer. But Tom wasn't talking. He got up to leave and when he did Harry grabbed his arm and refused to let go. Tom tried to shake loose and Harry wrapped his arms around him to keep him still. When Tom felt Harry's arms around him he couldn't help but react. He immediately got aroused and Harry felt it. As he looked into Tom's eyes he saw the lust that Tom was trying hard to hide. He reached up with one of his hands and caressed Tom's face with it, he then leaned in and kissed him.

It was a slow and passionate kiss. He started to remove Tom's shirt as he kissed him. Gently touching Tom as he did. When Tom felt Harry's fingertips on his nipples, he suddenly came out of the shock that he had gone into when Harry kissed him. He started to kiss Harry back, while trying to remove both of their clothing.

Harry started to kiss his way down Tom's chest and when he came to Tom's left nipple began sucking it. It was as if a electrical charge went through Tom. Suddenly, he couldn't wait to get rid of the rest of their clothing and drew back far enough to quickly remove it. When Tom saw how aroused Harry was he couldn't help but groan deep in his throat. He moved in to hold Harry closer. Harry took the opportunity to drag Tom over to the bedrolls and pulled Tom down on top of him.

When Tom felt Harry underneath him, where he had dreamed of him so many times before, he went wild, kissing and nibbling any part of Harry he could get a hold of. Harry couldn't believe it. Tom, whom he had been lusting after since they had met was finally in his arms. Harry didn't know what would happen later. Maybe this was a mistake and he would regret it, but with Tom touching him he couldn't seem to stop. They kept rubbing against each other and caressing each other's bodies as they continued to kiss. Finally, Tom exploded in climax and Harry followed seconds later.

They continued to hold one another for several minutes until they had recovered enough to pull away a little. As Tom looked into Harry's eyes he felt as if he should say something. Finally, Tom said, "Harry, I love you."

Harry was thrilled and replied, "I love you, too, Tom."

For the next several days, Tom and Harry made love as much as possible. Tom told Harry everything that had been bothering him, and why he had felt that he couldn't say anything. Harry surprised him, when he told him how a couple of years before he met Libby, he had fallen for a male medical student at Star Fleet academy. They never got together, but Harry knew from the experience that it was possible for him to love another man. Harry explained to Tom that he had been attracted to him since they first met, but hadn't given up hope that Libby would wait for him. Eventually, Harry did, but by that time he and Tom had developed such a good friendship that he didn't want to take the risk of hurting it. By the time Harry fell in love with Tom he was convinced that Tom would never be interested in him.

Tom quickly assured Harry that he had been very interested for a long while; he just didn't know if Harry would be. Finally, they managed to tell each other everything they had been hiding in their hearts.

Almost immediately after they had finished talking things out, Voyager found them. As soon they could they were transported aboard. After briefing the Captain on the crash they walked to Tom's quarters and went in. The second the door closed they grabbed each other and started to kiss. Finally, Tom let go of Harry. He seemed to want to say something and Harry decided to remain silent until Tom had said what was on his mind.

Tom stood there staring at Harry, then dropped to one knee. "Harry, my love, I know this is sudden, but I love you more than anything, and everyone, in the universe, and I would like you to marry me," said Tom. Harry looked into Tom's eyes and could only whisper, "Yes, oh yes".

Tom got up and went back to kissing his beloved Harry.
