Life in the New World is hard and often bitter. One catch can mean the difference between lasting the winter and starvation. The French and Indians maintain a fragile peace as they both try to live in the unforgiving wilderness along the Canadian border outside Fort Quebec. Raoul Lavolliet, a French trapper/homesteader, encounters a young Indian brave tampering with his traps. What will he do with him now? Also please accept my apologies for these first chapters being so short. I was still searching for my muse when I started. Chapter 4 should be much better.
