March 31, 2008 - Still alive and still working on stories, it's just not going very fast. My time is being divided a lot between family responsibilities, running the roleplay and the beta work I'm doing. My readers won't be happy hearing this but I've also been working on a new creative outlet, this one isn't in writing and it's not exactly in art. I'm designing and creating home furnishing objects for the Sims 2. I started in January because I needed another outlet since the muses were absent again and achitectural and interior design have always been something I loved. This gives me a psuedo chance to do both. I promise I am still working on the stories when the muse strikes. I have made some headway on Angel so that chapter is at least moving if not finished yet. September 17, 2007 - Yes, believe it or not I am still alive. And the muse has made an appearance in the last month or so. Along with a few plot bunnies that I'm resisting, he/she has also been inspired to do more work on Chibi Files and I have been looking over Finding an Angel also. Not to get anyone's hopes up, but there have even been a few thoughts on a possible new piece for Pretty Is... also, but that one is less firm. Chibi Files is about half finished and flowing fairly well so with luck it will be up before the end of the month. I would promise sooner, but I can't quaranty how much time I will have to work on it every day. Look for the new chapter of Angel in October.At this point I will still not be putting up any new stories or plot bunny snippets until all other stories here are complete or removed.
July 1st, 2005 - Yeah I know by now you all probably figured I was dead right? Or that I was about to do another two year no posting stint? No really I don't plan on that ever happening again. If you don't already know I'm a huge roleplayer and it was one of the the things that kept me sane during the period when I couldn't even stand to look at my stories. The roleplay has to come first because people count on me to do my part so they can do theirs. It's a great interactive writing situation. For me it was a way to ease back into writing and now to simply keep warmed up. Unfortunately it does take a lot of time.Chapter three of "Finding an Angel..." is up and ready for reading. It's shorter than I like, but it's a transition chapter really to get us set up for the main body of the story. The next story that will be updated on the site is "The Chibi Files" with Chapter Six - Sick and Tired. I'm not sure which story will be done after that, probably the one that yells at me the loudest.
On a downer note... "Pretty Is...." will no longer be updated. There just doesn't seem to be much interest from the readers anymore. Susan and Pam thank you both for the emails you've sent while I was working on the series they were greatly appreciated. I will be looking over and reevaluating "Shaman's Heart" which seems to be stymied and may go on hiatus until I can figure out what the characters want. So in the mean time I will be put most of my time into "Angel", "Chibi Files" and "Meeting Face to Face" which I hope to have completed in a few more chapters. At this point I don't intend to post any new stories until all the others are finished. Once they are done I will be turning my energy to yaoi anime fanfiction pretty exclusively.
Dec. 1, 2004 - The National Novel Writers Month is over, I didn't make the 50,000 word limit but I did get to 13,074. Of course if you add the 19,400 that I wrote in November for Part 2 of the Pretty Is... Christmas chapter that gets me up to almost 32,500. Anyway I did get the first two chapters of the story done and I have put them up in the Original Fiction section of the site. The story is called "Finding An Angel In Hell" and I will be finishing it over the next few months. With luck everyone will like the characters and I will do more stories involving them.One last thing before I close this really quick update...
Nov. 20, 2004 - Well this took way longer than I expected. Then I suppose I shouldn't be surprised between Falltime Real Life and Nicky's reluctance to have anything spoil his perfect Christmas. Yes finally at long last Pretty Is... I'll Be Home For Christmas is complete. I hope that everyone who has been waiting for it finds it worth the wait. (incidently as I'm writing this the song is playing in the background on the radio... how is that for coincidence?) The next chapter of Pretty Is... may actually be a dual past and present chapter for Valentines and will include Nicky and Jason's wedding. Thoughts and ideas would be great! By the way has anyone else noticed that each one of these new stand alones is getting longer than the last?I have started my NaNoWriMo story and the first chapter is done. It's called "Finding An Angel In Hell" and unfortunately will not reach the 50,000 word count on time. Of that I'm pretty sure because of how long it's taken to finish PI. But I'll be putting all of my time into it over the next week and we'll see how much I do get done. Once the month is over I will put up what I've done for everyone to read. I will be finishing it regardless of not making the word count for the month, I've got it all plotted out and really want to develop these characters.
On another note I've had a request about an update list to let people know when I update my stories. What do you all want? Would you like a list strictly for notifications? Let me know and according to what kind of feed back I get I'll decide from there.
Oct. 1, 2004 - I've gotten several responses on the Pretty Is... question and right now they all seem to in favor of heavy angst. Beware what you ask for...Mwwhahahahaha. Nothing new up yet I'm still working on the Xmas chapter because I want it done before Christmas 2004. There is a bit of news though.I signed up today for NaNoWriMo. Or National Novel Writers Month. NaNoWriMo is from midnight November 1st through midnight November 31st. The idea is to write a 50,000 word novel/novella withen the 30 day period. You can make notes, outlines etc all before hand but the writing itself can only be done in the month of November. There are no prizes, no accolades, only the feeling of success you will have when you actually meet the 50,000 word goal before the cut off date.
