For those of you who are interested in seeing what some of my favorite sites are, or in learning more about this anime phenomenon. Here is a page of links to some of my favorite sites. They mostly lead to fiction sites or archives but many of them also have picture galleries, fanart, multimedia, all kinds of things. If you head off for one of the sites then have loads of fun! I've got it set up so that the site will open to a new page so that you can easily come back here and check out another site if you want. Now onto the links!
These are my top sites:
This woman's writing is only surpassed by her artwork. It was her art that got me interested in Ronin Warriors to begin with and her writing that hooked me and reeled me in.
This is Yanagi-Sen's site. You can see the larger, more detailed version of the picture on the banner on her opening page. She is another wonderful artist and teaches Manga classes. Her stories are great and though she writes series type stuff every story can stand alone without the others. Heehee a relief from my Tolstoy writing right??
Chalcedony is in the process of moving all of her stories and other web content to her Live Journal for ease of updating. The link above will take you there where you can enjoy her lovely fics. I first ran across Chalcedony's fic on PL Nunn's site. I loved it so much that I went looking to see if she had a site of her own with more. Hallelujah she did! She writes long angsty fics that are just wonderful.
A fanlisting site with some of the best Schu/Yohji fanfiction from some of the best writers in the fandom including Aoe's The Harmonics Series and Yanagi-sen's Lincoln Park series.
Unfortunately Fanfiction.net is no longer my favorite fic site anymore. They have unfortunately gone against their own claim to be a place for people to express their creativity and become the place that where it's okay as long as you meet the expectations of the moral minority. If I sound pissed I am a lot of beautiful fics were lost when they pulled down anything over an R rating. Many NC17s were rated to warn of the alternative lifestyle that we all read about. Now Rs are being looked at. Worse most people are now listing stuff that should be NC17 as PG. Oh well that's what happens when you become a censoring Nazi. But don't pass them up completely, there is still good fic there if you look and don't worry about whether there is sex or not. Me I don't, but a lot of good fics that had no sex but were labeled NC17 for implied content were lost.
I spend a lot of time at this site just for the inspiration and the sweet dreams it can give me. This woman has the biggest original fanart website I've ever run across. PL Nunn one of my favorite artists has a huge section here. By the way don't be like me and get so wrapped up in the art that it takes you almost a year to realize she has a wonderful Ronin Warrior fic archive as well. I couldn't believe I'd missed it all that time. LOL
The next set of links are some great anime archives that have yaoi fiction from several different Anime series.
Media Miner Media Miner is huge, not as big as FF.net, but since the ban of NC17s on FF Media Miner has been growing by leaps and bounds. Many of the authors who lost or had to remove everything from FF moved here. It's a little harder to manuever around and has some other drawbacks that make life difficult. But for good fic that isn't censored I can deal.
I've chatted with Jaya and she warned me that she hasn't updated this site for a while, but she's hoping to start up again fairly soon. She has two other sites that she also maintains so she's pretty busy. Plus she writes also. Don't let that stop you from checking it out though. There is some absolutely wonderful fic on this site. I still haven't finished reading it all. Maybe by the time I do she'll have updated again. ~g~
Aff came about just about the same time that ff started their censoring routine. It is still fairly new but growing rapidly. It is not owned or run by the people that do FF. I haven't hung out much there yet I just haven't had time, but when I do....
These next sites are more series explicit in what you'll find there.
This site is mainly a Weiß Kreuz site. Heehee You can probably tell why it is one of my favorites. There is a good number of Nagi centric fics especially with my other fave Omi. But it also has some other great pairings too.
If you love or even like Gundam Wing or would like a chance to check out some Gundam Wing fic this is one of the best places on the net. It has a huge archive with some of the absolute best fic writers in the fandom!
This is all I have at the moment but I will try to add more as time goes on and I find other excellent or helpful sites. Of course once the muse returns I won't have as much time to site hop and read as I have when he's vacationing in parts unknown.
Also just to reiterate none of the art or banners on this page belong to me they belong to the owners of their particular sites so if you wish to add them to your own site please drop them a note to let them know. Often they just like to check out your site or even place a link back for you. The only ones I don't worry about contacting are the webrings but only because I don't really feel like my site fits on any of the ones I tend to frequent so joining isn't an option.
