Trinidad

1989 -- This land is so famed for the people and for the drugs and reggae. Large stereos on the back of vehicles would pump music out full blast. It was so loud that the ground shook.

We went to the park and a fair (?)—a lot of people were there, that's as much as is clear. Nice place, everyone very black, and most of the men with dreads in their hair. One of the reasons I laughed myself silly when seeing them on whites here.

A lovely, hot country. Not much more comes to mind—it was some time that we spent there, but it was so hot that days ran into each other, and nothing very spectacular stood out to mark it apart from the rest of the time that we spent there.
