1988More of a stopover to Brazil than anything else, we stopped
here to stock up on water and food. There were heaps of children
with whom we played; I remember one persistent boy who kept dragging me
into corners to do things to me. I managed to fend him off but boy
was it an effort. No pun intended.
We had some trouble with the customs, as per usual, but things were lazy. Damien and I, because of the heat, temporarily reverted to our times-of-heat behaviour; swimming and making little places on deck in which to lounge out of the heat. We didn't have the opportunity to leave them like that, for the aforementioned local children came over.
There were some difficulties with the customs for some reason; I think it was another of those baksheesh things. Cabos Verdes didn't really live up to their name. Green Capes. A misnomer most of it was built up and any colour but.
