Fanac. This means fannish activity for those who are not in the know. Considering that I've only been in fandom since mid-1999, if not later, I've not been around for very long nor have I done too much to contribute to it other than stick my nose into various things.

September 1999, MelbourneAussiecon III, the first convention that I ever attended. A small piece on how I found it to be is available in eFNAC 7. [ read @ efanzines.com ]
March 2000, BrisbaneHLDU 3, the Highlander convention, I attended because I knew of fen who were attending who I hadn't seen in quite a while. It was well worth it.
April 2001, BrisbaneHLDU 4 I attended for much the same reasons as for HLDU 3. A con report came from this one, however. [ read ] 24kb (added 2001.04.13)
July 2003, MelbourneContinuum 2003

I read a fair number of zines, and I have been aiming to write a letter of comment for every single one that I receive. This is truer of e-zines than of paper ones; actually, I do write a LoC to almost everything, only for paper ones it takes more time, for I generally keep them for a rainy day. So I'm being fannish by giving folks egoboo, though a line from someone who they don't know is probably a bit odd. It's half the fun of getting a zine, actually; sorting through my thoughts to get a semi-coherent mess is an enjoyable process.
An aspiring to be semi-pro magazine, it lasted for 4 issues before going on indefinite hiatus because of financial problems. It was a good idea, and a some stories in the last couple of issues got nominated for Aurealis Awards. Those folks were chuffed, at least. [ more information ]
Sardine Tin Gods is a little fanzine that I got into my head to do late in 2000. Genzine in nature, it's meant to be an outlet for all of those writings to do with SF that I want to do. [ more information ] (added 2001.02.05)
The Australian and New Zealand Amateur Publishing Association (ANZAPA) has been going for many years. There is more information on the website for the APA.
Left this APA in August 2001; rejoined June 2003, left August 2004.
The 'B' in the BWA stands for a different thing every issue, but the 'WA' stands for 'Women's Apa'. I joined with issue 60, around the middle of 2000. It's for women fen from all around the world who are not members of AWA (A Women's APA). The first two of the zines that I produced are available here, but as after that I start doing commentary on the previous mailout, they're not available.
