====================================================================
Johnny ran as fast as he could through the crowded airport. *Flight 505. I have to get there. Why didnt he listen to me!*
Person after person blocked his path. It was impossible to avoid them. Cheating wife. Deadbeat dad. Teenage runaway. Embezzler. Johnny had to ignore them. He had one goal in his mind. The gate for Flight 505 came into view. "Bruce!"

There he was. Tall. Handsome. Beautiful. And so sad. "You shouldn't have come Johnny. We've been through all this. I have to go." He turned away and started to walk away through the boarding gate.

No! Bruce, please. Youve got to listen. I had a vision. If you go through that gate, youll die. All of you, Johnny started shouting. You have to turn back! This plane will crash into the ocean!

Johnny, stop. Youre just saying that to make me stay. He walked away and out of Johnnys sight.

No! No! Bruce, I wouldnt do that! Stop! He was still screaming when the security guards came to take him away. He tried to tell them who he was, but they refused to listen. He was still screaming at them to listen when word came from the tower that all contact from Flight 505 had been lost. Johnny put his head in his hands and wept for the loss of his dearest friend.
===================================================================

The familiar feeling of falling through ice water enveloped him, and Johnny Smith was back in his living room holding on to Bruces arm. He was attempting to pull away.

No! Johnny pulled Bruce into a fierce bear hug. This was his friend. His confidant. The one who stood by him no matter what in the weirdness that had become his life. The one who believed in him. The one who...

Bruce, please, dont leave me!

Johnny ,let me go. Youve made it plain how you feel. Johnnys heart broke at the sadness in his voice. I dont regret telling you, but its killing me to be so close to you and not be able to...let me go.

Never. Johnny held on tighter and buried his face in Bruces chest. He inhaled and breathed in the scent of clean wool and Bruces body. You cant leave me. I love you.

What! But you said...

I know what I said! Johnny took a deep breath. I cant bear to live without you. Youre my life. He grasped the fibers of Bruces sweater to hard he felt the threads tear.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Bruce stopped trying to pull away. He put his arms around Johnny and held him tenderly. What do you want from me, Johnny?

Make love to me. The words popped out of his mouth without conscious thought, but he refused to take them back. Now. Please.

But you said...

Will you forget what I said! *Flight 505. Flight 505. Flight 505.* Johnny screamed inside his head for the echoes to just SHUT UP. The physical part scares me a little, but the thought of you not being here with me scares me more.

What about Sarah? What about your son?

Sarah is Mrs. Walter Bannerman. The sooner we both realize it, the better. Johnny swallowed, for this part was very difficult. I dont have a son. JJ is where he belongs. With his parents.

Bruce looked down at the trembling man in his arms with raw hunger and desire in his eyes. Be sure. Be really sure. Once I start, I dont think I can stop.

Then dont stop.

Bruce started to gently stroke his hair. He bent down and ever so carefully kissed him.

Johnny froze for an instant, and then he forced himself to relax. *This is Bruce. Its okay. This is what I want. This is what I want.* He told himself over and over. And kissing, he discovered to his surprise, was pretty universal. Lips were lips. It helped that Bruce kissed extremely well. Johnny was flushed and breathless when it was broken.

So far, so good, Bruce observed. His voice was husky and his eyes were dark with need. Bedroom now?

Johnny nodded and allowed Bruce to lead him up the stairs.
=================================================================

Much later, Johnny lay wrapped in Bruces arms, and the echoes of Flight 505 finally died away. He remained still so as not to wake his lover. Lover. Yes, lover. Johnny was covered with the results of Bruces love. And it had not been terrible. Despite his own need, Bruce was slow and gentle and tender in his caresses. He treated Johnny like a valuable treasure marked FRAGILE.

The upshot was, he was tired. Tired of the aching loneliness. Tired of coming home to a cold empty bed.

Johnny reached for the hand that was draped limply around his waist. In a flash, he was decades into the future. He and Bruce were older and grayer and still very much together. They were positioned much as they were now. Bruce looked very happy. Johnny looked...Bruce was alive and well. It was enough. It had to be.

FLIGHT 505
MICK JAGGER/KEITH RICHARD

Well I was happy here at home, I got everything I need
Happy being on my own some living the life I lead
But suddenly it dawned on me that this was not my life
So I just phoned the airline girl
"Get me on flight number 505
Get me on flight number 505."

Well, I confirmed my reservation then I hopped a cab
No idea of my destination and feeling pretty bad
With my suitcase in my hand, in my head my new life
And then I told the airline girl
"Well get me on flight number 505
Get me on flight number 505."

With my whole world right at my feet, of course I'll have a drink
But suddenly I saw that we never ever would arrive
He put the plane down in the sea
The end of flight number 505The end of flight number 505.
