Series Type: I consider this a mild AU. Mostly because, should I opt to extend it that far, the Stockwell year is NOT going to happen. But this will be about a long-term, monogamous relationship, so any flirting or relationship in an ep that would deny this (which will often be the reader's personal perspective) should be mentally toned down to flirting.
Notes: I've been toying with a first-time Face/Hannibal story, but when I sat down to write it, this came tumbling out instead. I guess Face wanted to say a few things first. While this snippet is told in first-person, the next story/stories (who knows) will be my usual third-person stuff.
In many ways this is probably less a story and more an example of my working through who Face is.

Note: There is a "het moment" in this ep - Face trying to save a relationship with an aerobics instructor named Rhonda. Consider that AUed out of the picture. I may do several of these little episode-inspired snips and PWPs, but unless I say a "het moment" in the show that goes beyond flirting happens, it doesn't. All of that said, I would seriously like some feedback as to whether or not AU-episode spins like this are anything anyone wants to read.

Summary: The following story is based on the episode Where is the Monster When You Need Him.
Basically, the Team are helping a friend of Hannibal's film a movie, unfortunately the area Face has scouted is the hideout of a criminal wanted for lots of nasty deeds.? He has the whole village under his thumb by keeping the women and children imprisoned.? Naturally, the Team find out, rescue the women and kids and take the criminal prisoner.?
The scene upon which this story is based has always intrigued me as there seems to be a bit missing.? After the bad guys have been rounded up, there is a short scene when Murdock runs up to Hannibal and asks 'how'd I do?'?? Hannibal claps him on the shoulder and they laugh together.? Behind them, over Hannibal's shoulder, we see Face guarding the baddies and he's looking over as though waiting for someone to speak... they don't - and the scene ends there.? Darn it!
