The Zone: Thanks!

Although I may ultimately write the words, for me, fiction writing is an interactive process. I'd like to take this space here to thank my wonderful beta readers, editors, and plot advisors, without whom these pieces of fic would be far less cohesive and complete and, in fact, might never have been written. Thanks y'all!

The Journey Home
My first ever fanfic, eek! Many thanks to my marvelous beta reader: Wolfling! (8/13/98)

A Sheltered Place
Again, big thanks go out to Wolfling for this one. Yes, I'm joining 'semi-colon-abusers-anonymous' in the morning! (9/4/98)

The Magnificent Eight
This story was written for my fiction goddess, saraid, who purchased it during the second 'The Sentinel' Slash Auction. Huge thanks to Ashtareth for slogging through this beastie and conclusively dealing with my small 'comma' problem; and to Wolfling (and Ash and Virg) for finding plot holes, moral support and insisting that I add the chase scene. (1/5/99)

Midwinter's Tale
Thanks Maigret and Ashtareth for the quick turn-around on this one. This story is for Virg, who needed a hot, steamy treat to stave off the -40 F weather in Alaska. (2/14/99)

Gift
This puppy wasn't betaed at all. Eek! <g> (3/2/99)

Compassion
Lucifer just had to say his bit. Like Gift, this one wasn't betaed either. (3/22/99)

Perfect Submission
Thanks to Ashtareth for betaing and to Aaboe (Panther) for some 'technical support' ;-) (1/28/99)

Sweet Surrender
Thanks to Ashtareth for betaing and Rosa for convincing me that I should write a sequel. This story is for Rosa, for her enthusiastic support. <veg> (3/1/99)

Blind Faith
A zillion thanks to my beta goddess Ashtareth. Once again, this one is for Rosa, my wonderfully encouraging, blasphemous partner in crime. Amused nods to the midnightchatters for wanton abuse of ellipses and sentence fragments. (5/6/99)

Proof
Many thanks to my beta-goddess Rosa, and to the snippet-sluts (you know who you are ;-) whose wanton, unabashed enthusiasm made this piece, my first foray into the Highlander universe, possible. (7/22/99)

Dark Homecoming
This story, really more of a snippet, was written as a quick gift for Maigret, in about 15 minutes. Sub!Kronos anyone? Unbetaed! (7/15/99)

Reliquary
This story was written for the October slash-writers' ghost story challenge. Many thanks for Virgule for the beta and to Heidi and Ashtareth who convinced me to finish it. (11/8/99)

Death, the Rat, the Thief and the Boyscout
Heidi and I got together one night this past summer on IRC and decided to collaborate on something humorous. Part One is finished and we definitely have some tawdry plans for the foursome. (8/12/99)

Bivium: A Place Where Two Ways Meet
This story was written as punishment for Heidi and Ladonna, who more or less dared me to do it. I simply can't resist a dare. A holiday present for all those Sub!Kronos fans out there! Not betaed. (12/13/99)

Love Amidst the Ruins
Virgule and Rosa purchased this story at the last auction. Without their enthusiasm and devotion, quite honestly this tale would never have come to be. Many, many uncountable thanks to Ashtareth, my amazing betatrix (any remaining mistakes  are all my fault). Thanks also to Maigret, Cen and Heidi (all of whom steadfastly insist that there is an actual *plot* here somewhere ;-) for their unflagging encouragement. I love you guys! (1/14/00)

Theft
This story was written for Tealin, who really wanted more Kronos back story and Virg who's a big fan of kisses (and who needed 'convincing'). Oh, and yeah, apparently plot crept in here too. Thanks to the snippet-sluts (Heidi, Ash, Noon and Rosa) and Tealin, who betaed the beastie for me!  (3/25/00)

Unrequited
This story was written for Tealin, who guessed the correct number of pages (iirc 45), and so won a snippet of her choice.  Unbetaed -- eek! (5/26/00)

Close Your Eyes and Think of Uruk
Selinthia posted a challege on the Kronos list: what would happen if Slash!Methos met Gen!Kronos? Here's my somewhat whimsical response. Well now, *honestly*, who could *possibly* resist Methos for very long? For Cen, who's buttons it unexpectedly pushed, Tealin for her encouragement, and Virg for the nostalgic trip down a purple-haze-edged memory lane. Another unbetaed masterpiece (not)! (6/30/00)

Love Never Dies
Rhiannon Shaw posted an alphabet challenge on her own fiction list. Most entries were light and humorous. Here's my rather grim contribution. (9/15/00).

Quid Pro Quo?
I have no idea where this came from. No plot really, not particularly original, just a tiny little snippet that showed up while I was working on another story that unexpectedly turned into an epic. takes place a short time after Archangel. This story is a holiday present for my penpal O, who had the month from hell and who has put up with such a lame correspondent -- me! Many, many thanks to Noon, who bravely betated.

Gone Fishin'
This tale was written for my friend Vikster because she asked so nicely. (And now I'll bet she wishes she hadn't ;-) The plot device was inspired by two amazing Star Trek: Voyager stories by Amirin called V and Volant. First thanks go to Tealin and Heidi, neither of whom ran screaming when I first pitched this idea to them, way back when.  Next, many, many thanks to the snippet gang of: Ash, Cen, Heidi, Linda, Kim, Maig, Noon, O, Tealin, Virg, and the Witch In Winter, who made wonderful suggestions, corrections, and kept demanding, "So where's the rest, damnit?!" And last, but certainly not least, thanks to Margie who patiently answered my endless questions about Jack.

Long Fire
This story was written for and betaed by Margaret, who got me excited about writing again.

Wabi-Sabi
Thanks to Josan for the beta!

What She Wants
Happy birthday, Darkrose! She wanted smut for her birthday and so I obliged.

Contemporay Magical Innovations, by H. Granger
Many, many thanks to Josan, who betaed, and to Gillian who stamped out egregious Americanisms!

A Matter of Trust: Part 1 - First Things First.
Thanks to Josan who so graciously agreed to collaborate with me. And many, many thanks to Luthien for being willing to beta and Brit-pick this monster!

A Necessary Evil.
This story was written for Chowderhead, as part of McTabby's, "Blame It On..." challenge. I highly doubt this is the story that she had in mind when she asked for Pregnant!Dumbledore, but I hope she likes it anyway. :-) It was supposed to be short, but it got completely out of hand.Infinite thanks to Josan for betaing, to Nym and MusIgneus for the Latin help, and to the many and lovely rabble on LJ and AIM who kept me going with their encouragement.

Give and It Shall Be Given Unto You.
This story was written for the 2004 Merry Smutmas gift exchange for Gwendolen. Many thanks Gina for having organized the fest (and put up with my RL drama), to my wonderful beta, Brit-picker, and story consultant, Luthien for work above and beyond, and finally to Josan for catching a bunch of things I missed. All remaining mistakes (and I'm sure there are some) are my fault alone.

Parallax.
Many thanks to Luthien for the beta!

Justice For All.
Many thanks to Luthien and Josan for the beta, the consistency check, the place names, and the Britpick, and to Nym for additional help with place names.

Love Is.
Written for the 2005 Merry Smutmas gift exchange. Thanks to my fantastic betas, Luthien and Josan; you all rock my world.
