Subject: [VP] Intro Pour Moi

Since I don't know if I'm a newbie or an oldie, I'm introducing
myself again even though I haven't been in the building for
years and years like all the *really* old-timers.

I'm Melodi, a 51 year old Old Maid who lives with a spoiled
rotten 13 year old Yorkie named Emily. I work for the federal
government. Unfortunately, it's not the IRS, so I can't really
intimidate anyone, and it's not the postal system, so I can't
really terrorize anyone. And maybe I'll be able to retire early
next year so I can spend my days on things that are really
important, like S&H, of course.

If I ever get caught up with zines and episode watching (ha!) I'm
also into miniatures and beads (separately, not together), but I
haven't had time for either of those in months and months. Due to
childhood polio, I use a scooter for mobility. I love
handicapped jokes. I also love Fawlty Towers, and am obtaining
episodes of Route 66 to watch. But I am NOT getting into any
more fandoms. I don't have enough time for S&H as it is.

Years ago I heard of Kirk/Spock stuff, but turned up my nose in
righteous indignation. (Actually, I still have my nose turned up
a little at K/P stuff. Only this time it's not righteous
indignation, it's just that when I think of K/P I keep seeing
William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy as they are today (shudder).
Separately they're OK, but together...)

Then our PBS station started showing Man From UNCLE a few years
back. Even though I had loved MFU years ago, this time I got
really hooked, due to the Illya character. Then I started
having these bizarre thoughts about Napoleon/Illya. Then, to my
delight, I found the MFU slash group. And then, to my very much
delight, someone in that group (God bless them!) said that the
slashiest group was Starsky & Hutch. It was like an arrow to my
heart. Oh yes, Starsky & Hutch! How could I ever have forgotten
them!!! I had seen a lot of the episodes years ago, but the only
things I remembered were scenes from The Fix and Partners.

Yes, I still have a soft spot in my heart for MFU, but it's
really on the second burner compared to S/H.

This is the most fun, wonderful, terrific bunch of nuts, er, I
mean people that I've ever had the opportunity to get to know.
I'm so proud to be with you guys.

Hugs,

Mel
