Hi all,

I'm delurking to answer this, so I suppose I ought to put some
sort of intro in here too. :) I'm Margie, and am *very* glad to
have found this list. I've been a slash fan for years, but had
almost no contact with any slash fandom before I got on the net a
few months ago. Starsky and Hutch was the first show where I saw
the possibility for slash--the explanation follows. What I didn't
realize was that other people also saw it. Now, as soon as I get
some more ready cash, I have to hunt down some more zines... <g>.

I'm also sincerely hoping that TNT decides to run the show
regularly again, since I didn't manage to get tapes on the last
run (didn't even realize they were showing it until it was too
late). Meanwhile, I lurk and listen to everyone listing ep
titles and describing scenes, and think "oh, yeah, I remember
that!" ;)

in S&H? >When you first laid eyes on them? A specific episode? A
story?

There was no specific time for me. I watched the show during its
initial run, but only for the buddy aspects (hey, I was really
young at the time <g>). Gradually, as it hit reruns on a local
station, the idea began to occur to me that there might be more
there. Still, I think I have to join in with the ones who are
saying the slash aspect is somewhat AU for them. I watch(ed) the
show as it was presented, as a show about buddies and partners
whose relationship goes very deep, and always considered the
slash an *extremely* interesting AU. But then, I have AUs in my
head for almost every show/book/movie I like, anyway. :) And,
thanks to S/H, a lot of them are slash AUs. Hmm. Now that I
think about it, though, I'm wondering how much that will change
now that I've had some contact with other people who see the same
stuff I do. This should be interesting! :)

As for the idea of one or both being gay; that never even really
occurred to me. I've seen it in some fic, and it's interesting,
but I've always seen them more as two people who loved each other
completely, on every possible level, until it just became
unthinkable that they weren't together in every possible way,
regardless of gender.

There, how's that for a quick delurk? <g> I don't even know if
that made any sense. Oh well, back to having fun reading what
everyone else has to say!

Margie
