Hi, I just found out that I was accepted to the S/H list today.
I am still very new with this show. Saw it years ago but am now
taping the shows daily. I am looking forward to the discussions.
I admit to being mostly a lurker and a non-author but do
occasionally jump in on whatever thread is being discussed. I am
looking forward to enjoying the shows even more in light of the
discussions and comments I've read about them.

I just discovered / last November, Wow, it seems longer than
that. I met one of my e-mail friends there and she introduced me
to it. Started with S/K and B/D and read avidly whatever I can
find. Have jumped in with both feet and have started ordering
zines from several sources and read across several fandoms. I am
also taping UFO weekly when it is shown.

As for demographics, I'm 50, divorced. Have grown kids and
grandkids. My main hobby is the computer. I work a lot and
watch tapes and read zines.

Thanks for letting join here.

Thought I would slide out of lurkdom to add my 2 cents worth
here. I'm still fairly new, only ~ 3 years in / fandom. I was at
a con "Darkover" because I'm a big fan of Jacqueline
Litchenberg's (sci-fi author) and she and some of her fans are
always there. I had been reading zine's in her Sime-Gen world and
knew via e-mail a couple of the fan authors. I have since become
very good friends with one of them who is the guilty culprit who
just happened to have a Pro / zine with her. She still laughs,
when telling about me reading my first zine. Hadn't seen Pros,
could barely remember S&H, K/S (welllll). "What do you mean this
has been around for years?" Oh my, etc.

Did I mention that I'm a little over 50 old, yikes, all the years
I've missed out on reading and watching in such a fasinating way.
Trying diligently to make up for it, have seen most of the Pros
series (not the best copies but greatly appreciated), seen most
of S&H (ditto on copies). Was on the AOL chats for awhile and do
miss the friends I chatted with there....

Yep, you know how us lurkers hate to come out of the shadows, but
almost anything for one of the very nicest lists going and a
great group.

My name is Donna, I got into "/" fandom a little over three
years ago, prior to that I was clueless. Since I'm over 50
(sigh), that's a lot of wasted years and a loooooot of reading to
try and catch up on. You see, I'm a reader not a writer but I
tell my friends who write that readers are essential too and,
bless them, they don't argue. Someday I'm going to figure out the
IRC thingy so that I can chat with the list sibs again. For
awhile was on AOL and chatted with a great bunch, waves to Karen,
Linda, Diane, Stacey, Liz, Isa, etc.

My first fan zine was in the last 10 years in the Sime/Gen sci-fi
world of J. Licthenberg and it was another fan of hers that
introduced me to "/" and the world of Pros. Anyway, I first fell
in love with Pros (she sent me tapes) and then sampled a bit of
everything I could get my hands on. Bet nobody else on the list
has done that...right<vbg>. I still like multimedia..Indigo Boys
is one of my favs. The tops are S&H, Sentinel, Pros, Man From
Uncle, & UFO. Can't stand Due South & Blakes 7 (I really tried
but am spending too much anyway, tee hee). Was recently a small
part of the group working to get The Sentinel back on and WOW
can't wait for a damp Blair to dry out and move back...another
list..oh yeah, sorry. Am tickled that TNT is showing and, boy am
I taping S&H. Some of the episodes that I have are really bad
copies so, happy dance time. Ducking head here, I didn't watch
much the first time around for S&H but only because RL didn't
allow me to watch TV much in any case.

Have really grown in fandom in the last 3 years. Have been to
Escapade once (a great place & group) and now work w/Agent With
Style a bit. Was at Shore Leave with her in the dealer's room a
couple of weekends ago. Mysti has gatherings in Baltimore ~ once
a month and am starting to meet other fen and fandom is a great
place to be.

In real life, my 3 boys are grown, have grandchildren (3boys, 1
girl) and work for a small company. I purchase items, approve
invoices to be paid, solve problems, etc. Very busy. RL does
keep me away from the computer for fun time but eventually I
catch up and get the gist of what was being said. Keep it going
everyone.....

Now I've been good...can I go back to lurkdom...Please
