Hi to all the residents! I'm Ann : live in North Carolina, a fan
since the original broadcasts, and a long-time reader of fan
fiction. When Starsky & Hutch first aired, I was already
ordering the early Kirk/Spock zines. Did not know that there
was a fandom forming for SH as well. Then I was out of fandom
for some years (library school, marriage, baby, going back to
work). About 5 or 6 years ago, I started looking for zines again
and lo and behold, a whole cornucopia of fandoms had grown up.
That's when I began reading S/H. (Like several others on the
list, I was never "introduced" to slash. We were already
acquainted, I felt.)

I also read fiction from quite a few other fandoms, but the last
few years have seen such an explosion of new writers, new zines
and on-line fiction that I doubt if my one-time dream of reading
all the slash in existence is feasible now.

Special current favorite fandoms: S/H forever, Quantum Leap,
Sentinel, Pros, X Files. I was all set to blame my lack of
discrimination on being a reader only, but then I noticed that
several of the writers are also into multiple fandoms. Oh,
well. But they all need individual attention, you know; for
example in X Files, I read Mulder/Scully, Mulder/Skinner, and
Mulder/Krycek. But not Mulder/Monster of the Week. So maybe I
do discriminate a little.

I've been in VP for well over a year now, and it's as interesting
as ever. I am an elementary school librarian (media
specialist), and my husband is a public librarian who thinks my
interest in slash falls under the category of "flaky, but funny."
We have a daughter in high school and a cat. Daughter has her
own fan interests.

I would like to say thanks again to all the writers and
publishers in VP. Your wonderful stories, whether on-line or in
zines, provide a great escape from the frustrations of everyday
life.

Ann
