When You Love

by Winds-of-Dawn

"What's with the song, Chief?"

"Huh?" Blair turned toward Jim.

"You were really into it, like totally absorbed in it."

"Oh, yeah, well," Blair shrugged. "I like it."

"You do?" Jim tugged Blair closer and wrapped his arms loosely around the other man's waists.

"Mmmm-hmph," said Blair, as he leaned forward against Jim's chest.

"What do you like about it?" Jim asked, running a hand through Blair's soft curls.

Blair snorted into Jim's chest. "You'll think I'm crazy," he said.

"Try me," said Jim.

"Well, it's the whole song, really, what it says about when you love somebody, but especially that line, um," Blair looked up at Jim, hesitantly.

"Yeah, which one?"

"Um, about seeing your unborn children in her eyes?"

Jim raised an eyebrow. "You trying to tell me something here, Chief?"

"Not that I want children, you know, not literally..."

"O-kay."

"But it's just that, it's sort of like what I feel, when I look in your eyes."

Startled, Jim let out a strangled chuckle.

"See, I told you it was crazy," said Blair, looking away.

"You know, I must be getting too used to having you around. I think I can actually see what you mean," said Jim.

"Oh," Blair sounded intrigued, "Really?"

He looked up, straight into Jim's eyes, and Jim looked back, gazing straight into the depth of beloved blue eyes.

"Yes, Blair," Jim said. "I can see our unborn children in your eyes, too."
