Big Bandicoot

Big Bandicoot was a one-off creation in the 1970s by some of Australia's better known boatbuilders and designers, most of whom had never done a catamaran before. They were attempting a new sort of design to break the world record and go faster than 20 knots.

The original design only had the two fine hulls and a light aluminium beams holding them together; she was so delicately built that the first time she set sail she pitchpoled and broke in half! Things have been changed and beefed up since then, and the latest changes in its history has been at my father's hands, now with the very latest in cruising comforts.
