“Daddy, don’t go daddy!” Kelly begged as gunnery sgt. Gibbs began to leave for deployment.

“I’ll be back, I promise Kelly.” These words broke his heart cause he knew he couldn’t make that promise, he didn’t know if he’d be returning. The spoils of war.

“I love you Daddy.” Kelly managed to whimper through her tears.

“I love you too, be a good girl now.” Gibbs said.

That was the last time he saw them, driving away in the beat up old pick-up truck looking in the rear view mirror to see them waving, and to see his dear old Kelly collapse into the arms of his darling wife.

He then remembered when he was told the news. How unfair it all seemed. He was a Marine sniper over sees. He should’ve died. He was in the unsafe zone, they were home. They should’ve been safe. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO DIE!!!!

All the pain he felt that day came swelling back to him the second McGee and Abby said Kelly’s name to him. Now he felt even more guilt. She was alive, and I did nothing. She lived her life not knowing me her damn father! Gibbs went into a blind rage, and stormed up the stairs only to be greeted again by Abby and McGee.

“Who else knows!?!?” Gibbs demanded.

“No one. Thought someone might me messing with ya boss.” Replied McGree frightened.

“Keep it that way!”

“Gibbs” Abby began “We have to tell Ziva and Tony. They can help.”

“Fine, but only them no one else finds out. Not even the Director of NCIS. I want this contained!”

“Yes Sir.” They replied.

Gibbs made his way to the hospital in which this girl that caused so much controversy was staying.

“Kathleen Gibbson, what room?” Gibbs asked.

“Sir, I can’t tell you that.” The receptionist said. Gibbs flashed his badge and gun.

“Oh, I bet you can.” He replied obviously aggravated.

“Room 129.”

Gibbs ran to the room. No one was there. “Where is she?” He demanded an answer.

“She’s been moved to high security by order of C.I.A.” an orderly said.

“Damn it!” was Gibbs’ replay as he knocked some some trays of food and supplies over in frustration.

Gibbs’ living room was full of four people: Tony, McGee Abby, and Ziva. Tony and Ziva were obviously showing signs of worry. Why were they asked here? What was going on? McGee told them the story of how Abby couldn’t access the prints so he hacked the system. And Abby told them how the match that came up was to a Kathleen Gibbson.

“So, what does that have to do with us?” Ziva said.

“There was another match, Ziva.” McGee said. “The other match was Kelly Gibbs.”

“Kelly??? Kelly Gibbs. Gibbs’ dead daughter?!?!?!?!?!” Tony commented in dismay. “How is that possible?”

“We think, Kathleen is actually Gibbs’ daughter. Kelly Gibbs isn’t dead. She’s alive.”

“But why, wouldn't Gibbs tell us she was alive?” Ziva questioned.

McGee looked at Aby and looked at Ziva and replied "He didn't know."

"He didn't know, how could he not know?" Ziva said very skeptical of the whole situation.

"When Gibbs got back from deployment he was under the impression she was. Someone lied to him, the world, and made sure Kelly Gibbs was dead to everyone." McGee said.
