Summary: Remus and Severus visit the safehouse as three year olds.
Three year old Remus Lupin was screaming his head off.
His entire little body was covered in self inflicted
bruises and cuts. A small stuffed rabbit lay in
shreds on the floor of his plastic enclosed room. The
She Demon was healing his injuries with a spell and
trying to sooth him.
“Why him crying?” A voice asked. The She Demon turned
around to see Severus Snape peering suspiciously
around the doorframe. He was also three, dressed in
black robes and with his hair cut in a bowl cut. His
serious dark eyes widended at the sight of Remus’
“Severus, please go back to the playroom.”
“Him fall down?”
“Alright, Remus, “She lifted him down and set him on
the floor. “You can go play now. Severus, be a big boy
and show him where the crayons are?”
When the Demon checked on them later, the two little
boys were coloring quietly at the yellow plastic
The children were all napping on their mats in front
of a Thomas the Tank Engine video. Remus had just
been fed an entire bottle full of Wolf’s Bane potion
(a special emergency delivery from the best potions
maker in the world) and had chosen to share his mat
with Severus while he slept in puppy form.
Remus followed Severus around all day, nuzzling him
and looking at him with knowing, hopeful brown eyes.
He watched while Severus built a block tower, resting
his chin on his paws. It was at this time that young
Lucius Malfoy spotted an easy victim, and stomped over
“Stupidhead!” he sneered.
“G’way! “ Severus mumbled. Lucius kicked the block
tower over with his little booted feet and laughed
Severus struggled to his feet, and Lucius pushed him
down. Suddenly, a low growl sounded through the room.
A small grey ball of fur leapt in front of Severus,
snarling at Lucius Malfoy, daring him to come closer.
Lucius screamed and ran away. Severus hugged the
wolf and tumbled to the carpet with it, laughing as
they rolled around.
