The younger man turns, hope in his eyes, and for a moment Aragorn thinks Boromir
does see. But the moment passes, and Aragorn knows he has spoken too late. The
Ring has already made its claim.

s night enshrouds the river, Boromir lies apart from the others. The pain that
twisted his face when he quarreled with Aragorn now hunches his shoulders under
his cloak. He does not stir as the Ranger stretches out beside him, but his
breathing hitches, betraying his wakefulness.
