Kirk stood in front of T'Pau, the hot desert wind of Vulcan blowing
into his face. His eyes focused on the matriarch, challenging her.

"From the moment I first saw you, Kirk, I knew you would come back to
bond with Spock. I knew that he would choose you as his bond mate."

His head jerked up. This was the last thing he expected to hear from
her.

Bewilderment showed in his face. "How did you know?"

T'Pau almost snorted. 'Men', spoke her face. "It's the men of Spock's
house. Spock, Sarek, Skon, Solkar ... They have always preferred
blondes."
