The BLTS Archive- The Captain's Number One: Doctor's Orders by Jazz Man (jazz_man@email.com) --- Disclamer: It all belongs to Paramount, I'm just taking them out for a spin. Note: Set after the events described in "How it All Began". I've decided that it would be more fun to play with the time line after Picard and Riker first get together, so you expect a few more. --- The two men who had just walked into sickbay looked decidedly sheepish as Beverly came out of her office. Will Riker had his arm round his Captain's neck and was walking with a rather prominent limp. "So what did you do to him, Jean-Luc?" "I did nothing," he said. "It was the ground and a horse," said Will, "The Captain's idea." Beverly turned to Picard, "So it was your fault." She put up her hand to stop any protest, "Lift him onto the biobed." "How bad is it, doctor?" asked Will. "You'll live. Torn ligaments. I'll have it fixed in no time, but it'll hurt for a while." She ran a regenerator over his leg, "Now tell me what you were doing." "Riding horses, Beverly," said the Captain. "Riding horses." "Well not all of the time, " said Will wickedly. Beverly looked at Will, then at Jean-Luc and then back again, "Did you just say what I think you did?" "Yeah," answered Will. "Well then, your leg is very badly damaged and you need the rest of the day off," she glanced at Picard, "With him as your personal nursemaid." "Beverly . . ." "No buts about it, Jean-Luc, doctors orders," she said grinning. --- The End
