Spock," Lady Amanda told her son. Sarek was sitting nearby reading and
listening.

"That is irrelevant. The Captain and I are in love and we intend to be
bonded."

"He's too charming. He flirts with everyone!" Amanda protested. "He's
also too wrapped up in his career."

"We are t'hy'la," Spock countermanded calmly.

"What about that nice doctor? He seems like a family man."

"Dr. McCoy and I hold diametrically opposed viewpoints on nearly
everything we've ever discussed. Besides, he is not homosexual."

Sarek smirked, and raised an eyebrow.
