A single nod greeted the Doctor as the Captain sat down with his cup
of coffee.

"Been to the gym yet today, Captain?" McCoy asked, already knowing the
answer.

Curbing a slight irritation, Jim answered, "Bones, I just got back
from shore leave, tomorrow's fine," he grinned, looking content.

Deliberately changing the subject, McCoy asked, "So what did you do on
leave?"

Echoing McCoy's last word, as a ploy to deflect the Doctor didn't work
as McCoy was relentless, so Jim gave in, "I was with someone special,"
and McCoy"s jaw hit the table.

Fairly certain of the Doctor"s reaction, Jim whispered, "Can you keep
a secret?"

Glowering at the Captain, indignant as hell, he stated, "Of course I
can; I am the CMO."

Hiding a smile, Jim said, "I won"t really ask that of you, just
couldn't resist."

"Indeed," trying for a Spock-like answer.

"Just like teasing you, Bones, seriously, though, this one's got my
heart strings."

Keeping his voice under control, McCoy asked, "Are you going to tell
me who?"

Letting a few seconds pass in silence, Jim then shared, "You can see
for yourself."

Memorizing Jim"s euphoric expression, Leonard asked, "How? When?"

Nothing would deter the good doctor at this point, so all would know.

Openly happy now, Jim said, "I made plans to meet here."

"Plans, what kind of plans?"

"Quite romantic plans, actually," Jim said softly.

"Romantic? hummm, now who is she?" McCoy was bursting with curiosity
because this looked serious.

Smiling enigmatically, Jim said nothing as someone walked up behind
McCoy.

"That would be a he.. me!" Spock said as he entered quietly.

Uncaring of stares, Jim smiled the mega-watt variety directly at Spock
as he approached him.

"Vulcan, you're late," Jim told him as McCoy's mouth dropped open.

Without saying a word, the Vulcan grasped the human's hand to his 
heart.

"Xenophobic, you have never been, and you stole my heart," the Vulcan
said in complete seriousness.

"You stole mine long ago, Spock." Love was shining out of Kirk's 
eyes.

Zapped into inactivity, McCoy was frozen to the spot as he watched
their lips gently brush each other's and then, as if enlightened, he
sighed contented.
