"Are you sure you are okay with this, B'Elanna?"

B'Elanna smiled at Tom, and then let her eyes sweep over the holodeck, which had been converted into a giant party room, and was filled with crew members. She looked back at him. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Tom gave her a relieved smile. "I'm glad to hear that."

She smiled again. "I still can't believe he agreed to have your baby though," she said, shaking her head. She glanced over at Harry. He sat on a couch surrounded by crew members, all bearing gifts, and he was already showing.

Tom laughed. "Believe me, there's a price. In addition to a few other. . . um. . . considerations, I have to have the next one. But don't tell anyone that yet."

B'Elanna burst out laughing. "You're kidding!"

Tom shook his head, but couldn't keep the smile off his face.

She looked down at his flat stomach, blocking out memories from long ago, and tried to envision him pregnant. "I can't wait to see that."

Tom laughed and ran his hands across his belly. "I'm hoping that I can somehow manage to avoid looking down when it happens." He chuckled.

They sat there is silence for a moment, watching Harry laugh loudly when he opened up his gift from Sue Nicolletti. He held it up, showing off the short red robe she had given him, and B'Elanna noticed it was nearly see-through. She heard Harry murmur "It's supposed to be baby gifts, Sue. Besides, I won't fit into this for months!"

"That's the point," Sue giggled. "It's so you can look sexy and seduce Tom after you've had the baby."

Harry blushed, just barely. "In that case, I love it." He laughed.

B'Elanna turned back to face Tom, smiling. "He's good for you."

Tom smiled. "So… want to give a gift to a father to be?"

"That's hardly the custom," B'Elanna scolded.

"Oh, come on. Just tell me."

"Tell you what?" B'Elanna asked innocently.

"It's been eight months. You can tell me. Just what did the Captain say to you that day?"

B'Elanna looked around, and the directed him to a spot where they definitely wouldn't be heard. "All right, I'll tell you. But this stays between us."

"What about Harry?"

"Fine, but known else, either of you."

"Okay!" Tom looked like he was going to bust something. He was that eager to know.

"Well, you and Harry left, right?"

Tom nodded.

"Well, she started in on me, and I wasn't about to hear any of it. For a while, I just ignored her and stared out the windows. But she kept going."

"What was she saying?"

"Oh, at first she expressed her disappointment. Then she sympathized with me. Standard 'take a deep breath and get on with your life' kind of talk."

"I take it that wasn't working."

B'Elanna snorted. "No way. I was ready to hunt you and Harry down."

Tom chuckled. "I figured that much. For weeks afterward, I kept looking over my shoulder. I kept thinking you'd be coming at me with a Bat'Telh any time."

B'Elanna laughed. "I can imagine. You usually knew better than to piss me off."

"So, what happened?"

"Well, I think she knew she wasn't getting through, and you know she doesn't accept that. She has to keep trying. She got up and came to stand next to me. I think she knew… well, I think she knew the only way I wouldn't go after you is if I had another target."

"What do you mean?" Tom looked mystified.

"Well, if there was something to distract me, at least my Klingon side, something to make me not think about the emotional humiliation I felt…"

"You might not kill me," Tom finished. "Guess, I should thank the Captain for my life… again. So, what did she do?"

"Well, first she told me that I was acting like a sulky human child."

Tom chuckled. "That must have pissed you off."

"Yeah, but it got worse. She said, 'Well, if you are going to act like a child, I'll treat you like one' and then grabbed me and spun me around."

"She took you on?"

"Well, not really. It was so fast, I don't know how she did it."

"Did what?"

B'Elanna looked at him hesitantly. "Well, she spun me around and pulled me down into a chair… across her lap."

"No!"

B'Elanna blushed and then nodded. "Yeah. She spanked me."

Tom laughed. "I can't believe it! How'd she do it? I mean… I'd never be able to do that to you!"

B'Elanna glared at him. "Don't even think of trying it. I don't know how she did it. It was like she'd been doing it for years. Every thing I tried to do to get away she blocked or made useless. I was just trapped there."

"So then what?"

"Well, she spanked me, and I started growling and screaming."

"I can imagine."

"And then she said that if I didn't shut up, she'd comm Seven to come watch."

Tom almost choked. "I can't believe it!"

"You know I would never let that happen. So I shut up and took it, and was absolutely infuriated. I just hated her, and was crying in frustration. Then she stopped, and just sort of held me for a few minutes until I got back under control, and then finally let me up."

"And then you went after her?"

"No, I didn't."

"Why not?"

B'Elanna blushed again. "Well… because I liked it."

Tom's jaw dropped open as B'Elanna turned away, walking back towards the group. She wore a satisfied smile, knowing he wouldn't get that image out of his head for a long time.

She took a seat next to the Captain on the couch, who greeted her with a warm smile.

Then she laughed as Harry opened his next gift, a present from the Captain. Harry lifted up a tiny little StarFleet uniform for all to see. . . with Captain pips on the collar.
