Humour in Slash Fiction, Log Page 2

<Viridian5> You try not to be cruel.
<itslemmin> whoops, I'm about to get booted. BRB
<Viridian5> :::waving sadly::::
<Holmes105> Byeee
Aqua whispers to Viridian, "Does it have Krycek in it?"
<ahnon_e_m> i know the feeling of getting booted today.
<Viridian5> My story either starts out funny or turns funny on it's own. I have little control.
<Viridian5> The monster dS does not.
<Wombat> People make mistakes when they start out, and you have to try not to come down too hard on them
<Holmes105> I never think about that myself. I just write
<Cedara> wb
<Viridian5> ::pet pet::
<CJK> Well, okay, whether it's nasty or not depends on teh POV. I thought the Baccarat parody was nasty, but I still liked it.
<Wombat> I re-read and edit a lot
<Ecolea> lack of control is an interesting aspect to whether it's funny or not.
<Czeri> For me writing humour is the easiest. I can't stay serious, especially when I'm writing from Mulder's POV. He's just that sort of guy...
<Viridian5> My whole writing style is like that!
<Xanthe> I don't like cruel parodies - they're not funny, they're just mean.
<Wombat> There is a Star Trek author, called Steve RAtliff
<Hal> I hardly edit at all. It just is or it isn't for me.
<Wombat> Who has a whole spoofing industry based on him
<Xanthe> To parody something successfully you have to be fond of it.
<Viridian5> I shape, but something else in my brain writes.
<Viridian5> <g>
<Wombat> Because of this Mary Sue he writes
<Holmes105> I agree Xanthe
<Wombat> Marissa Amber Flores Picard, Princess of Essex
<CJK> Xanthe, yes, definitely.
<Viridian5> I edit constantly. My style is skeleton-work, then layering work over that until it's done.
<CJK> Womabt, pardon me?!
<Holmes105> I love XF and XF slash.
<Viridian5> Oh, man!
<Xanthe> Like Wombat's Skinnertorture - hilarious spoof on the boffing that goes on in fanfic but kindly done and so damn funny!
<Wombat> He takes it in good humour, but it does got a bit cruel sometimes
<Holmes105> Exactly
<Viridian5> That name is Mary Sue personified. Perfect.
<itslemmin> Cruel to whom? To the show? To other fic authors? To the characters?
<Holmes105> And the Guides to the Common Mulder was hilarious!
<Wombat> She was a lieutenant commander at twelve
<itslemmin> I think any amount of cruelty to the show is okay, but cruelty to other authors makes me uncomfy.
<Wombat> Glad you liked it :)
<Viridian5> Twelve? Bwahahaahhahaa!
<ahnon_e_m> is there a guide to the common skinner yet?
<Wombat> I'm working on it :)
<Holmes105> I can't wait for it.
CJK won't mention all those Mary Sues that appear in her Star Trek RPG.
<Viridian5> Cruelty to other authors is something I try to avoid. Cruelty to the characters has limits on how far I'll go.
<Ecolea> Dear Mr. Mulder was especially good!
<Wombat> Of course, you could say there's no such thing as the Common Skinner
<CJK> There is!
<Holmes105> Well, in reality
<Wombat> Ecolea, glad you liked it!
<ahnon_e_m> he's un-commonly good!
<Hal> I think the rules for humour are like the rules for any fic: you have to stay true to the characters, even if you're really stretching them.
<Wombat> I suppose a lot of it is making people more aware of the cliches out there
<Viridian5> There has to be some basis in canon somewhere.
<Holmes105> The reason I love the Guide by Wombat is that it satirizes us all perfectly.
<Ecolea> True, I hadn't been aware it was a cliche until I read Muldertorture by Wombat.
<Wombat> Fanfic writers do tend to drop their characters into categories
<Walt1013> Hal, I like that definition.
<CJK> Well, was the TowelFic true to teh characters? <G>
<ahnon_e_m> dr mr mulder should be read by any one who has seen at least 10 xfiles shows.
<Holmes105> Do you think it was CJK?
<Wombat> You have to feel sorry for Mulder's neighbours
<Ecolea> always
<Viridian5> I do. <g>
<Viridian5> My Mulder rarely has any left.
<Wombat> And what about the guy in the office next door to them?
<Ecolea> what about Scully's
<CJK> I'm not sure, frankly.
<Viridian5> I think Mulder must own the building. Only way he hasn't been evicted.
<CJK> But I sure did enjoy it. <G>
<Holmes105> I think M/Sc are definitely in character, just stretched to the limits
<Viridian5> Kasha!
<Cedara> hi
<Kasha> <g> Hi Hon.
<Ecolea> either that or Mulder has the only 10 year lease in history!
<Hal> Another rule: mentioning Martha Stewart is always funny <g>
<Rose> Skinner's must complain, too. Handcuffing cute boys to the balcony must be against the CC&R's...
<Holmes105> Mulder and Scully would be Scary neighbors
Viridian5 gets cushion for Kasha.
<CJK> CC&R's?
<Holmes105> And having them fall on your head too.
<mitsou> Question for Wombat: What was the first slash you wrote?
<Viridian5> The neighbors want in on the cute boy handcuffing parties actually.
<Ecolea> Community Rules or some such for condos
<Czeri> Or having them hang out of the balconny...
<Viridian5> They get ticked when Skinner won't share.
<Rose> The rules that govern condos... ususally set up by the Owner's Assn.
<Wombat> That was Muldertorture, I guess
<Holmes105> Not letting him be handcuffed?
<CJK> Oh, okay, thanks.
<Wombat> The first actual, sensible slash was Rapture, which was a long Mulder/Methos piece
<CJK> And it had Immie!Skinner... <drool>
<Aqua> Hmmm, handcuffed boys on balconies gives me an idea
<Ecolea> loved Rapture!!!!!!!
<Wombat> Although, actually, I think I may have written a short piece about Skinner's secretary
<Viridian5> Al fresco, baby!
<Rose> It gives me one, too, but I will behave...
<Wombat> glad you enjoyed Rapture, Ecolea
<ahnon_e_m> i'm reading rapture now off-line, love it
Rose opens another crate of cushions.
<CJK> Ack... guys, I have to run.
<Ecolea> I always enjoy you're work, wombat
<Wombat> I still get feedback for it a year and a half after I finished it
<CJK> See you around. :(
<Wombat> Which is kind of cool
<Viridian5> Bye!
<Rose> Bye CJK... see you around!
CJK waves.
Wombat waves
<itslemmin> Bye.
<Holmes105> Bye CJK
<Viridian5> I love feedback for my older stuff.
<Holmes105> Me too!
<Wombat> I got feedback from a shipper just this week
<Hal> Yes -- I got some for my very first story the other day. What a great feeling!
<Viridian5> Note to anyone listening: It is never too late to send feedback.
<Cedara> uh-huh
<Rose> Hi Spider :)
<Holmes105> Hiya
KMSpider waves to the room
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION
<Aqua> Hi
Rose agrees with Viridian!
<Walt1013> Dear Readers... DO send feedback!!!
<ahnon_e_m> i promise! ; )
<Holmes105> I agree with Walt and V
<Aqua> I do - eventually
<Wombat> definiely, and I publically apologise for being so slow to answer
<ahnon_e_m> what she said!
<Czeri> That's great! :waves to KMSpider: I love "Below the Line"
<Aqua> I love Below the Line too
<itslemmin> I send feedback religiously, and sending feedback is how I've made some of my best online friends. Sending feedback has many rewards.
<Viridian5> Ditto.
<Holmes105> Ditto
<Viridian5> Well, on the friends bit.
<Rose> more fic more fic more fic....
<fuzzicat> I agree
<Walt1013> Oh yes, it does... !!
<mitsou> What types of of characters are easiest to write comedy about and why?
<Viridian5> Alas, my writing makes it harder for me to feed back more often. Danged plotbunnies...
<itslemmin> Plotbunnies?!
<Wombat> Hmm... quirky characters, like Mulder
<Hal> Yes, what Wombat said.
<Wombat> Characters with strong personality traits
<Viridian5> Like the one in Monty Python, only bearing the plot seed that clamps on your brain and won't let go.
<Hal> Character we see a lot of.
Rose passes the plotbunny food to Viridan.
<Viridian5> Uh, thanks, Rose. I think. <g>
<Wombat> With parody it's kind of second hand, so the characters that get written about a lot
<Viridian5> I love taking on the characters who seem to take themselves seriously.
<itslemmin> Got it, V.
<KMSpider> thank you, Czeri, Aqua.... <shoving a clone behind her>
<Hal> A character who is too funny in and of her/himself is harder to be funny about, I think.
<Wombat> Like Ace Rimmer in Red Dwarf, to take an extreme example
<Hal> It's easier to write humour about Qui-Gon than about Jar Jar.
<Cedara> <brb>
<Czeri> Oh goodie! We have clones in the room!
<Holmes105> Any character can be funny, depending on the situation
<Wombat> Offended dignity is one of the funniest emotions
<itslemmin> If there is good Red Dwarf slash out there, I want to know about it.
<Viridian5> Oh, yes....
Hal hears someone mention Rimmer and swoons.
<Xanthe> I love Rimmer. Sigh.
<Ecolea> rimming rimmer?
itslemmin swoons at the mention of Rimmer's name also
Aqua loves the KBC's
<Wombat> Well there was actually a Rimmer/Lister onscreen kiss
<Holmes105> Not heard of Red dwarf
<Xanthe> It was a really meaty one too!!!
<itslemmin> Holmes, you need Red Dwarf in your life. Everyone does.
<Xanthe> Very squishy kiss.
<Viridian5> I heard of it but never saw it.
<Xanthe> Holmes, you'd love Red Dward
<Rose> What is Red Dwarf?
<Xanthe> It's very funny.
Cedara is b
<Xanthe> Except the last 2 series - they were silly.
<Wombat> I think the second last one had the kiss in it
<itslemmin> I haven't seen the kiss yet! <moan>
<Wombat> Brit comedies seem to be a lot more relaxed about homosexuality in general
<Wombat> That whole fuss about Ellen DeGeneres
<Hal> Hmm, Krycek/Rimmer?
<Virg> It's not hard to be more relaxed than US standards.... <sigh>
<Ecolea> I think it's a social thing since homosexuality is legal in the UK, but not the US
<Holmes105> I'll take your word for it itslemmin
<Wombat> I hear a US version of Queer as Folk is going to be made
<itslemmin> Krycek/Rimmer would be a lot like Krycek/Spender, only funnier.
<Cedara> but they squeak with the underage sex
<Cedara> can you say prudish?
Rose agrees. Even here in Hollywood people still look funny at g/l/b/t.
<Wombat> Underage threesome, no less
<Ecolea> can you say ignorant?
<Cedara> that too
<Czeri> It is being made now. US Nathan's going to be 17.
<Xanthe> Oh god. A US version of QAF? I hope they don't airbrush.
<Virg> homosexuality isn't illegal in the U
<Viridian5> <---who gets my only foreign slashiness from Canadian stuff
<Virg> in the uS
<Holmes105> Just in certain states
<Virg> shoot
<Riticulan> Oh well, it's being made in Canada, so maybe there's some hope for it.
<Virg> Just certain acts.
<Holmes105> Yes
<Rose> It still is in some places, Virg.
<Ecolea> sodomy is illegal in almost all.
<itslemmin> I believe in about 30 of the 50 states, sodomy is illegal. In all cases it's illegal for hets as well as queers.
<Rose> Even CA still has laws on the books about sodomy and oral sex.
<Virg> right
<Virg> but I believe those laws have been stuck by supreme court rulings
<Wombat> I guess it's how often they're enforced that counts
<fuzzicat> Mass is one of the worst. there's an initiative as we speak to get them repealed, and you'd be amazed at the resistance.
<Virg> It's still illegal to have mixed marriages in some states
Rose nods.
<Czeri> It's still good. In Poland homosexuality officially doesn't even exist.
<Aqua> Good grief!
<Wombat> I don't think Lesbians officially exist in this country...
<itslemmin> Vermont and Canada are clearly civilized. Everywhere else...ya takes yer chances.
<Wombat> Because Queen Victoria refused to believe that women would do such things :)
<ahnon_e_m> wanna bet,Czeri?
<Virg> Nope, lesbians only exist to male het porno flicks more interesting. ;-)
<Ecolea> lol
<itslemmin> LOL, Virg!
<Rose> ROTF!
<Wombat> I wanna see some male gay porno flicks!
<itslemmin> They're not as good as fanfic, IMO.
<Virg> There are some really good ones Wombat
<Ecolea> and every gay woman is only waiting for a real man to give her the juice and make her straight
<ahnon_e_m> i prefer fanfic to flicks in general
<itslemmin> Bi porno is fun, though. You get some great dialogue in them.
<Czeri> No really, there are no organisations, or at least you don't hear about it.
<KMSpider> think gay porno flicks use het couples just to make them more interesting?
<Cedara> lol
<Viridian5> snerk
<dossier> i went looking for some gay porno flicks, found some beauties
<Mulder> Germany now discusses legal homo relationships. End of year the decision will be made <or not>
<itslemmin> No, it's to provide lines like "your husband has a nice tight ass"
<ahnon_e_m> yep, straight guy turns gay, right?
<itslemmin> (an actual line from a bi porno I saw once)
<Wombat> It sounds like conversion is a big thing in these films
<Rose> Vermont has passed a DP law for straight and gay couples.
<Holmes105> A religious experience?
<Wombat> Possibly not...
<Holmes105> Do they baptize?
<dossier> lol@homes!
<Virg> roflmao!!!!!
<Cedara> hehehe
Holmes105 bows
<Wombat> Although I saw 'Dogma' the other day, and wouldn't mind seeing Ben Affleck and Matt Damon doing the nasty
<Rose> Well, why do you think we all yell "OH GOD/GODDESS!" when we come?
<Ecolea> Conversion can be sexy.
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION
<Mulder> For anyone: Do you find that your intent when you start a story is changed by the way the story itself is going?
<Wombat> Oh God, yes!
<Hal> Sometimes, yes.
<Viridian5> Beyond a doubt.
<Wombat> Rapture was only supposed to be 40k long
<Holmes105> Sometimes
<Viridian5> I do that.
<Ecolea> gee, kinda exceed the limits on that wombat.
<Viridian5> I have comedies that turn into dramas somehow too.
<Czeri> Hell yes! I never know what I'm going to end up with!
<Holmes105> I work by associations
<Hal> That happened in a big way with the Mulder/Frohike piece -- it was supposed to be humour and Frohike kind of took over and all of a sudden I was weeping at the monitor over them -- bizarre.
<Viridian5> The story tells you what it needs, and you either give it or watch it wither.
<Wombat> The characters seem to have their own idea of what they're going to do
<Wombat> They have their own behavour
<Hal> And sometimes you just get a better idea half-way along
<Walt1013> So most of the time they "take over" once you have started?
<Wombat> You've got to write in linear structure and see what comes up
<Holmes105> I never write in linear structure
<Hal> It's doesn't always happen to me -- often the ideas leap fully-formed from my head.
<Viridian5> I don't write linear either.
<Wombat> I find it hard to, but otherwise I write huge chunks of stuff I just can't use
<Viridian5> I write chunks with gaps, then bridge later.
<Viridian5> All part of the layering process for me.
<Wombat> I guess it's best to have a very loose structure planned out beforehand
<Hal> I'm not good at leaving gaps -- I find them hard to stitch up later.
<Holmes105> I just see something in my mind and write it
<Wombat> But of course, if the story takes off in a different direction, you're sunk
<Hal> but I do make copious notes about what is going to happen later; I just have toe write it all in order.
<Viridian5> My structure forms as I work.
<Viridian5> A lot of the longer stories, I have no idea how they'll end until I'm there.
<Holmes105> I envy you guys being able to write with a structure.  I can't
<Czeri> I always have a plan. I just never manage to stick to it.
<Viridian5> I'm the master of controlled chaos. Linear is too confining.
<Holmes105> I usually get a visual, and write that down
<Xanthe> I always start at the beginning and write through to the end - or I'd never do the boring bits <G> So I suppose i'm pretty linear!
<Wombat> I've always written that way before, but you end up expending so much energy on stuff you never yse
<Holmes105> Then that reminds me of something else.
<Viridian5> For me it's a visual or hearing dialogue.
<Holmes105> Ah, yes, I hear dialogue too!
<Wombat> In my head... I think it's one of the first signs of madness
<Ecolea> lol
<Hal> I don't hear stuff -- just see the words, really.
<Holmes105> BWAHAHAHAHAHA
<dossier> only when you start talking back
<Viridian5> <g>
<Wombat> Mulder and Krycek especially.
<Czeri> And when you get the dialogue, you actually manage to put it into the story?
<Ecolea> i spend days on the bus to work hearing the characters talk at me.
<Viridian5> I don't hear the characters' voices, just my brain's voice speaking them.
<Hal> I'm not describing something I see or hear. The text itself -- the words -- are what I work with.
<Viridian5> For me, that's the train to work.
<itslemmin> Buses and trains are the best for hearing dialogue. All that white noise or something.
<Viridian5> Or in the car somewhere. Or in the shower.
<Viridian5> snerk
<Viridian5> Nothing to do but think.
<Hal> The shower is the best place for ideas :)
<dossier> I agree hal
<Hal> sometiems I pace up and down
<Ecolea> i'm thinking of getting a cell phone just to answer back
<Holmes105> I agree!
<Rose> Folks, I'll be back in 20... promised to call my Mom...
<Hal> and then I'm late for work
<itslemmin> <voice of Giant from Twin Peaks> It is happening again. </voice of Giant from Twin Peaks>
<Wombat> I'm writing some Phantom Menace at the moment, but it's tough because Q and O didn#t spend much on-screen time together
<Viridian5> I always get ideas when I don't have a way to write or type them down. <g>
<itslemmin> I'm getting booted again, BRB.
<Holmes105> And then have to keep saying them over and over.
<Holmes105> bee
<Viridian5> Exactly!
<Holmes105> byee
<Hal> yes! that happens to me late at night -- and I repeat the words over 20 times so I don't forget.
Viridian5 grasps at Holmes
<Holmes105> I'm still here, lol!
<Wombat> I always carry a pen with me... I go to places like Cambridge for inspiration
<Viridian5> Well, a grasp is never wasted.
<Holmes105> I agree
itslemmin returns
<Holmes105> That's a good idea Wombat
<Viridian5> I can't write on the train. It's too bumpy.
<Wombat> I have so many notebooks...
<Hal> writing kinky stuff on public transit is always a thrill
<Aqua> I write on the train
Viridian5 recuffs lemming
<Holmes105> Especially over the bumps, Hal.
<Viridian5> Imagining sex on the train is always fun.
<Viridian5> Makes me wonder if anyone sees it in my eyes.....
<Ecolea> always
<Hal> LOL, HOlmes!
<Ecolea> maybe but can they smell it on us?
<Holmes105> Thanks!
<Holmes105> EEK!
<Holmes105> I hope not!
<Wombat> Tip:  Don't write on the backs of the pages with a spiral bound notepad
<Viridian5> <---squicked at the thought of anyone else getting a thrill off my subway imaginings by being too close to me
<dossier> on a train? how could they tell it was you?  LOL!
<Ecolea> i kind like it. kinky...
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION:
<itslemmin> I think it'd be great. The next step in fanfic technology: just beam your smutty imaginings directly into the audience's brain.
<Aqua> I always write one sided only
<Ecolea> lol
<Walt1013> To all guests: What is the one thing that you hate to see in fic? Cliches... MarySues... or other?
<dossier> wetware
<Viridian5> I want to beam it directly to my computer in type.
<Wombat> MarySue's are quite funny, but cliches are just lazy
<Viridian5> I hate Mary Sues who are cliches?
<Wombat> Just way over-used conventions
<Holmes105> Hmm...a stupid Mulder, unless it's supposed to be a parody/funny
<Hal> I dislike humour that just doesn't succeed -- it's worse somehow than serious fic that doesn't work.
<basinke> cliches.  "you're overdressed."  "oh no, I've fallen in love with Mr Straight."
<Viridian5> Humor that falls flat is painful.
<Wombat> Like:  'His mouth tasted of lemon-meringue pie, beef stew, cabbage and an indefinable taste that was Mulder himesef...'
<dossier> poorly written stories that had a FABULOUS ieda
<Hal> LOL, Wombat!
<Ecolea> now those are depressing
<Viridian5> Bad stories that have one brilliant idea....
<Holmes105> LOL, Wombat!
Walt1013 collapses on desk
<itslemmin> What, dossier, you mean like most of the published stuff that's in bookstores?
<KMSpider> LOL,wombat.... the boy sounds like a full meal
<Viridian5> Stories by authors who can obviously write but something went so wrong somewhere....
<Holmes105> ANd he had an after dinner mint too.
<Ecolea> can't we just have toothpaste.
<dossier> exactamundo.  bought 2 books in the last year... down from 40 last
<Hal> lack of research that could be easily done
<Ecolea> what went wrong? filler. they get paid by the page.
<Wombat> There are so many stories that are practically copies of each other
<dossier> thats worse viridian, you bet
<Viridian5> My book-buying is way down. So much crap.
<Wombat> You can't tell them apart, there's nothing to make them stand out
<Ecolea> and i got a rejection letter for being to "unique"
<itslemmin> Especially in genre fic, like science fiction and fantasy.
<Viridian5> It's frustrating.
<Aqua> Now you come to mention it, I haven't bought a book in a long time either
<Wombat> I just brought Harry Potter 4
<Viridian5> Wow. I couldn't even get mine past the folks you recieve the envelopes.
<Riticulan> Me either, aqua
<Wombat> Now that's a good book
<Viridian5> My submissions were sent back 3 days after I mailed them.
<ahnon_e_m> i think that reading fanfic cut into my book reading time
<Hal> I've been reading Harry Potter too, but I haven't written any slash for it yet <g>
<dossier> me too ahnon
<Wombat> Ooh, Harry Potter slash...
<Ecolea> eew! harry potter slash
<Ecolea> he's a kid!
<Wombat> I want to read team rocket slash
<Viridian5> <---haven't read any Harry Potter.
<Viridian5> Ha!
<Viridian5> James so obviously swings that way....
<dossier> ROTFLMAO!!  Womabt when you find it, tell me.....
<Wombat> I was reading Harry Potter 4 until about 3am to finish it
Aqua hasn't read any Harry Potter
<Ecolea> no potter for me
<Wombat> James is fantastic.  He wears dresses, he carries flowers around
<itslemmin> IMO Harry Potter is overrated. It can't compete with the stuff we grew up on. And I find the gender roles problematic.
<Viridian5> He's so fabulous.....
<Wombat> I wouldn't mind seeing some James/Krycek
<Ecolea> geez that's my x husband!
<diana_w> LOL Wombat!  Now I won't be able to watch Pokeman with my kids without grinning
<mitsou> Which character would you say has his/her/its own inherent humor that makes it easier or more difficult to write?
<Wombat> Methos and Joe are great
<ahnon_e_m> recently i read a gimli/legolas slash, is the guilty author here?
<Wombat> Duncan MacLeod... nope
<Wombat> Hal?
<Viridian5> Tough question for me.
<Hal> Mulder is great for humour b/c he's just such a strange guy
<Wombat> Was that you?
<Hal> Taht was me, re the Legolas/Gimli, yes
<Holmes105> Skinner is too
<Viridian5> As much tragedy as Mulder may have in his life, his life is so wacky too, so I'm with Hal. Makes it easy for me.
<Wombat> Mulder is written so well, I think that's why he's so easy to write about
<Hal> I find that with Mulder, you can stretch him so many ways and he's still nearly in character
<Holmes105> He's so beset by so many weirdoes, you just have to feel for him
<Holmes105> True
<dossier> more fully realized than just about anyone else on TV, as a matter of fact
<Wombat> And David Duchovny is incomparable
<Wombat> He's a porn actor given the role of a guy who never has sex
<Viridian5> And he takes weirdness in stride most of the time, so that's good.
<Wombat> So it kind of leaks out all over the place...
<Viridian5> And when he doesn't, he's even funnier.
<itslemmin> LOL Wombat!
<Hal> Wombat, you're right!
<Viridian5> Ha!
<Holmes105> That's true
<Holmes105> LOL
<dossier> I'll never see mulder the same way again, wombat.
<Viridian5> Mulder: "I am sex. I don't need to have it."
Wombat bows
<Holmes105> Repressed is funny
<Wombat> And poor old Skinner
<Virg> gotta run folks.  Thanks authors!
<Holmes105> They're both repressed in their own ways, bye virg
<Viridian5> He's a good looking guy, but he's a geek in his mind, heart, and soul. I appreciate that.
<Wombat> It's a shame he gets beaten up so much, really
<Holmes105> The 4th Lone Gunmen
<dossier> skinner is just ambiguous enough to leace room for discussion
<ahnon_e_m> mulder is sex and krycek is sex on legs
<Hal> Jeez, you guys are going to start making me like Mulder, and then where would my repuation be?
<Wombat> He has such a lovely air of world-weary menace
<Ecolea> I like writing mulder as a former slut who's done it all.
<Wombat> Yeah!  Slut!Mulder!
<dossier> you mean he's not?
<Holmes105> I like them all as sluts
<Viridian5> Mine is usually a slut who hasn't been getting as much lately.
<Wombat> And Dom!Skinner, of course
<Hal> Bi-sluts too.
<Holmes105> SubSkinner!
<diana_w> LOL Holmes!  Definitely!
<ahnon_e_m> Slut!Krycek turns NoSex!Mulder on
<Holmes105> BiSluts too, yes!
<fuzzicat> must dash too. thanks all.
<Holmes105> Thanks Diana
<Hal> "We put the Bi in FBI"
<Viridian5> snerk
<Ecolea> lol
diana_w ROFLMAO
<Walt1013> LOL!!!
Aqua ROFLMAO
Holmes105 ROFLMAOPMP
Wombat giggles
<Cedara> LOL
<ahnon_e_m> hal, you know what the f stands for in fbi, f....everybody!
<Hal> laugh
<dossier> lol!
<diana_w> lol!
Aqua giggles
<mitsou> LOL
Cedara laughs
<Ecolea> f....bi...ingrates
<Mulder> hehe
<Wombat> I love the stories where they end up having sex all over the fBI building
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION:
<Xanthe> You parodied it so well too, Wombat!
<itslemmin> Te's "Mulderslut" is wonderful in that regard.
<Xanthe> I get bored with office sex these days and rarely ever write it.
<Mulder> Question for the group. Do you think there's less feedback around these days than there used to be?
<Holmes105> YES!
<Wombat> Maybe in this fandom
<Viridian5> In XF, yes.
<ahnon_e_m> i think there is less xfiles slash writing
<Hal> No, I dont' think so.
<Holmes105> More people are disgusted with the show
<Viridian5> That too.
<Viridian5> My lists have been very quiet both ways of late.
<Hal> though my last few XF efforts have been gen rather than slash, so maybe it's down in slash
<Holmes105> For various reasons
<Holmes105> It is
<Holmes105> Hi !
<Riticulan> Hi C
<Mulder> hey cd :)
<Wombat> I'm writing Gen now too
<Riticulan> Well, I must dash for a while.
<cdavis> Hello. <g>
<diana_w> Hi CD!
<Viridian5> Bye, Riticulan!
<ahnon_e_m> bye
<Hal> the show just hasn't been so slashy this season
<Aqua> bye
<Wombat> I wonder if slash is something you grow out of
<cdavis> bye
<Xanthe> Hi CD!
<Wombat> Nah...
<Viridian5> I haven't seen sparks between anyone, het or slash, last season.
<ahnon_e_m> where is the genfic posted?
<dossier> I must be the odd man out, I thought most of season 7 was great
<Holmes105> I never have
<diana_w> Bye Riticulan
<Aqua> I don't think you can grow out of slash
<Xanthe> The sparks have been missing.
<itslemmin> I've grown into slash. I don't wanna grow out of it. I still write gen too, though.
<Xanthe> And the series is tired.
<Wombat> I did read a horrible rumour that Scully's baby is going to be Mulder's
<Holmes105> I have enjoyed certain eps
<dossier> I heard that rumor too
<Wombat> Which would kind of blow it out of the water for me
<Aqua> Yuck
<Holmes105> Why?
<Viridian5> I hate that rumor.
<Xanthe> If they make the baby M's (by uh, normal conception) I'll just stop watching.
<Hal> I did think that Hollywood AD was kind of a gentle poke at slasher, though
<dossier> speaking of squidgy
<itslemmin> I think Scully thinks it's Mulder's.
<Holmes105> I thought so too, Hal, but I liked the show anyway
<Wombat> I think Chris Carter might be messing with our heads again
<Xanthe> What's she doing having unprotected sex??? ><G>
<Ecolea> I think Scully HOPES its mulders!
<ahnon_e_m> but the baby is still part alien, right?
<dossier> gotta be an alien baby
<Holmes105> Maybe it'll be an alien baby
<Viridian5> The squicky explanation but the one I think it is, is that Cancer Man is involved.
<Xanthe> I think CC is just playing with us for the fun of it.
<Viridian5> It could be anything!
<Hal> That's what one of my genfics was about:  Unmarried Mother
<Holmes105> At this rate,
<Xanthe> Hal's story on this topic was THE BEST!
<Xanthe> CC should use it!
<Holmes105> It's probably Regis Philben in there
<Holmes105> He's everywhere
<Holmes105> ACCK
<Xanthe> Much better than anything he'll come up with.
<Viridian5> Between all the stuff in their blood? Unprotected sex? Hell no.
<Viridian5> Hal's story was excellent.
<dossier> double raincoats
<Holmes105> Didn't see it. I'll have to check it out
<diana_w> Of course, with CC's lack of follow-through, we'll probably never hear about the baby again
<itslemmin> Scully just looked so happy when she announced it -- it implied unprotected M-S fuckery. And yeah, Hal's story roolz.
<Wombat> One things for sure, I'll never be converted to shipperdom
<dossier> here her
<Wombat> the whole idea just squicks me out
<Viridian5> I think she's just thrilled she's pregnant after she thought she couldn't be.
<Xanthe> Me neither!
<Viridian5> The fit will hit the shan when she starts to wonder about it.
<Aqua> M + S = Yuck in my vocabulary
<Ecolea> in that case she doesn't care whos baby it is
<itslemmin> I hope you're right and that's all it is, V, but I have my doubts.
<Xanthe> I could have seen MSR in the early days but they've been so cold towards each other for so long now that it'd be just plain freaky.
<cdavis> The baby is probably an impalnted Samantha clone. Wouldn't that make Mulder happy? <g>
<Cedara> lol
<Ecolea> lol
<Viridian5> Exactly, Xanthe.
<diana_w> I agree, Xanthe.  Not since the third season
itslemmin groans
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION:
<Holmes105> M+S = a snowman baby
<dossier> LOL!!  Kryceks' evil work is im there somewhere
<Viridian5> Sometimes Scully seems like she can hardly stand him. Why would they get together?
<Mulder> Question for Wombat: What was your inspiration for making Skinner an immortal in Rapture?
<Viridian5> It's Krycek's?
<dossier> wouldnt that be a scream?
<Ecolea> worse cm
<ahnon_e_m> thanks for the ending, guys ; )
<Wombat> Hmmm... I don't know, really.  I was just converting to Mulder/Skinnerdom
<Wombat> And I wanted the guys to stay together
<Holmes105> Yay, Wombat!
<Wombat> Although I don't think Skinner and Mulder will be lovers in that universe
<Xanthe> Where's that sequel where we hear all about Sk's looooong immortal life, Wombat??!
<KMSpider> i think the baby should turn out to be frohicke.... at least he would make the effort to be a good father
<Wombat> I'm working on it... it'll be set in the future, which should be interesting
<Ecolea> i still think methos & mulder were fabulous together
<Xanthe> Oh they gotta be lovers in that universe! M seemed pretty keen!!! Please, Wombat!!!
<Wombat> to write, I mean
<Hal> Skinner 2525
<Wombat> Hmm.. I'll think about it
<Wombat> One character I want to put in that I really loved...
<Holmes105> That would be great for those two to get together, Wombat, but I always think that.
<Wombat> Was Farve from Total Recall 2070
<ahnon_e_m> i think that after krycek, skinner then methos/mulder is great
<Wombat> But Mulder/Methos are such a good pairing
<Wombat> The dialogue just writes itself
<Aqua> I'll read K with (practically) anybody <g>
<Walt1013> YESS Wombat... I was so pissed when TR got cancelled!
<Wombat> I didn't care about Hume or his whiny wife, just Farve
<Wombat> Of course, we're probably the only two people here who watched that show...
<dossier> missed TR2070
<Walt1013> Hume was great, imo.. but only without his wife;-)
<Cedara> three
<Viridian5> Never saw it.
<Cedara> I watched it when it ran here
<Aqua> If we got TR in the Uk I missed it
<dossier> not yet Aqua
<Wombat> It was on Sky a few months back
<Mulder> four
<Wombat> Farve was a wasted character, IMHO
<Wombat> They could have used him much more
<mitsou> For Viridian: Is the editing process always a rewrite process for you?
<Viridian5> Always. I start out with dialogue and add surrounding detail later.
<Viridian5> Or I start with an image and put a story around it.
<Viridian5> Some of the changes are subtle, but some are lengthy and far-reaching.
<Viridian5> And it's amazing how much difference one word can make....
<Ecolea> If you'll excuse me gentlefolk, I must be going now. It's been great. Thanks to all the authors for taking the time to chat.
<Viridian5> Bye, luv!
<Holmes105> Bye, thanks for coming
<Wombat> I edit far too much.  I pick at things for weeks.
<Viridian5> The folks who read me while I'm in progress see it all the time.
<Viridian5> Then I finish the linear drive of a story, but let it sit for three days to see if anything more comes to me.
Hal is in awe of Viridian's patience.
<Viridian5> So I guess I rewrite a lot. snerk
<Viridian5> It's not patience so much as compulsion.
<Viridian5> It's my process, and it's my process' way or the highway.
<Holmes105> You gotta do what you gotta do
<dossier> but you can always see the caer with with an author lavishes upon their work, or not.
<Viridian5> Exactly.
<Wombat> I find reading out work aloud helps
<Hal> I thought you said "at work" Wombat <g>
<Viridian5> Me too. Another pair of eyes (or two or three) helps catch things.
<Wombat> Well, that too :)
<Viridian5> I start reading over missing words once I'm with a story too long.
<itslemmin> Beta is so critical. Although I seem to get the most feedback for my unbetaed stories.
<Wombat> That's where wonderful Beta readers come in
<dossier> you still see them in your head but they quite hit the paper.
<Viridian5> snerk
<Viridian5> I never did a study on mine of beta vs unbeta.
<itslemmin> I have to go, peeps. Great to see/meet you all.
Wombat waves
Aqua wavves goodbye
Hal hugs itslemmin
<Viridian5> bye, luv!
<Wombat> When I was having problems getting back into work after writers block, Betas really helped me
<Mulder> bye itslemmin :)
<Walt1013> Hope to see you, lemmin!
<Mulder> Check out our official #TheAD'sOfficeWebpage: http://www.squidge.org/~adsoffice
<Rose> back!
<Walt1013> wb Rose!
<Viridian5> Discussing ideas with other people helps me a lot.
<KMSpider> what do you do about writer's block?
<Mulder> wb Rose .) <hugs>
Rose hugs Walt and Mulder, waves around the room!
<Wombat> Try to get inspiration from different places, try different fandoms, write short pieces
itslemmin has quit IRC (Byeee...
<Hal> writer's block:  go for walks, go to movies, drink rum & coke and supplicate my muse
<Holmes105> byee
<Viridian5> I switch stories.
<Wombat> I read a lot
<Viridian5> I always have 2 - 5 in process.
<dossier> take antidepressants
<Viridian5> Reading helps. So does talking to friends.
<Wombat> I write very slowly anyway
<Viridian5> Sometimes... sometimes I just need a break and try to let that happen.
<Wombat> Writer's block sucks, though...  Has anyone not experienced it?
<Viridian5> (Which is hard for me)
<Rose> Getting feedback on a WIP helps me...
<Viridian5> I had a long bout of block before discovering slash.
<Wombat> I gave up caffiene recently... that helped
Mama has quit IRC (Much Love!
<dossier> sounds drastic, wombat
Rose would die a nasty death without coffee!
<Wombat> I was drinking unbelieveable amounts and it was affecting my sleep
<Wombat> Now I drink decaff!
<Wombat> Cured!
<dossier> that would do it.
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION:
<dossier> I gotta have it but I leave it at 3-ish a day
<Wombat> I was drinking maybe 10 - 12 a day
<Mulder> For the group: Do you find girlslash harder to write or less funny than boyslash?
<Wombat> I can't write girlslash at all, I'm afraid
<Viridian5> Both.
<Wombat> It just does nothing for me
Rose grins!
<Hal> In TXF, there's less scope for girlslash, but I love it just as much
<Viridian5> I can write insinuation, but not the act itself.
<Wombat> Although power to the people that do!
<Hal> Some of my faves of my own stories have been girlslash
<Holmes105> It's harder because I don't think there's any other woman on the show worthy of Scully
<Holmes105> Except Bambi <g>
<Rose> I do like girlslash, but there is not much of it :(
<Wombat> I read a Scully/Miss Parker one I quite enjoyed - was that you, Hal?
<Hal> Yes, with Scully you have to do more x-overs and OCs
<dossier> except for Xenaslash
<Hal> Not me, not
<Hal> Hth, I think
<Xanthe> There isn't anyone on the show good enough for Sc really.
<Xanthe> No other female character is developed
<Hal> I remember that there were three Scully slash stories with OCs posted around the same time -- and all the OCs were named Alex
<Wombat> As for less funny, scully just doesn't strike me as a funny character
<Holmes105> I think you would have to do more Xovers, Hal.
<Xanthe> They even stopped developing Sc <sigh>
<Holmes105> Hal writes an hilarious Scully though
<Wombat> She's funy when she interacts with Mulder, but that's just because Mulder's so quirky
<Viridian5> Definitely.
<Hal> The only actualy slashy Scully stuff I saw on the show was with the Invisigoth in Killswitch
<Hal> but no one's written about that, to my knowledge
<Holmes105> I thought there was a little bit with Holly
<Holmes105> Well, Invisigoth did die
<ahnon_e_m> if scully is not a funny character wouldn't it be easier to send her up?
<Wombat> Personally I find it difficult
<Hal> It really depends on the situation
dossier has quit IRC
<cdavis> now that Scully is a computer warrior (First Person Shooter) couldn't meet up with Invisigoth in cyberspace? <g>
<Holmes105> She can be extremely funny with Skinner
<Hal> I think it's easier to do a funny Scully in het or genfic than girlslash, but it is doable.
<Wombat> What about other female characters in other fandoms?
<Holmes105> True CD
<Wombat> Are all female characters harder to slash?
<Mulder> rehi dossier :)
<Rose> It would be intersting to have a POV from post-upload Invisigoth...
<Wombat> I would love to see Callisto slash
<dossier> thanks,
<Hal> No they're not, just when the show itself lacks good female chars
<Wombat> She's a kind of female Alex Krycek
<Hal> I mean, take Janeway/Seven, Xena/Gabby, Buffy/Faith...
<ahnon_e_m> maybe scully can meet up with the two female characters from 'Feds'?
<Xanthe> Female characters are written so poorly on TV that it's hardly surprising they're slashed less.
<dossier> looking forward to Dark Angel
<Holmes105> I agree
<Xanthe> Most of them look sexy but don't have sexy characters - they're boring and one dimensional and don't do anything interesting.
<Holmes105> IJaneway/7 would be good
<Holmes105> Xena/Gaby
<Wombat> Lurve interest...
<Xanthe> Not all - but by and large they're written badly. The situation is improving, but there's a long way to go.
<Holmes105> They are written badly.
Aqua is keeping out of this as she doesn't like girlslash
<dossier> Gabrielle is fascinating all on her own without Xena, she's grown alot.
<KMSpider> though i do like the director on once a theif... she manages to pull off menacing and sexy
<Holmes105> The show itself just isn't written well.
<Hal> I guess a lot of my humour girlslash is kind of goofball
<Hal> Oooh, the Director!
<Holmes105> I liked Diana Rigg on the Avengers...but that's been so long, maybe I'm idealizing her
<Wombat> Miss Parker is an interesting character - a very strong, flawed character
<Viridian5> f/f insinuation is all over Once a Thief.
<Hal> And don't forget Ivanova!
<Viridian5> I'm going to miss Miss Parker.
<ahnon_e_m> pair scully with the dog lady from that xfiles where she was so possessive of M, and let the fur fly.
<Aqua> <g>  I was too busy watching Vic
<dossier> LOL! Aqua, i can imagine
<Holmes105> Someone needs to put that ep to sleep. I hated the Bad Dog No Biscuit ep
<Wombat> For some reason female characters seem to have a lot less humour than their male counterparts
<Holmes105> It seems to make them "threatening"
<Wombat> Holmes:  Almost as bad as the bad kitty ep!
<dossier> afraid to not be taken seriously
<Viridian5> I think it's the woman in a man's world thing in some shows. Others have no exucse.
<Holmes105> Oh, yeah, and the Mulder Gets Bitten By The Trouser Snake ep
<dossier> LOL!
<Viridian5> Yes, that's it. In my monster dS fic, one of my femal characters has that problem....
<Wombat> Did I miss that one?
<Viridian5> Ha!
<Viridian5> Which one was that?
<Aqua> Huh? Trouser snake?
<Wombat> The one with the tentacly seamonster?
<Holmes105> All the snakes fall out of his trousers, and he's bitten. It was at the Rattler Baptist Church this season
<Wombat> Ohh... that one...
<KMSpider> is that the one in florida during the hurricane????  :)
<Rose> I think that most of the shows writers are male, and afraid of pissing off NOW or somesuch...
<ahnon_e_m> that was not 'snake' in his trouser, it was his...
<Aqua> Ugh! Snakes - no wonder I didn't watch it
<dossier> it had to be snakes
<Wombat> I haven't watched as many eps lately
<Holmes105> He doesn't have that many penises ahnon>e>m
<Wombat> Probably about half of this season's
<dossier> wasnt the snakes one Season 6?
<ahnon_e_m> holmes, are ya sure?
<KMSpider> maybe he borrowed some penises from his boyfriends, holmes
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION:
Sebastian  has joined #TheAD'sOffice
<Mulder> Question for Holmes: Will you  be writing any more XF humour? We miss you!!!
<Holmes105> Aww, thanks! I  just wrote a parody, To See Or Not To See.
<Hal> Where did you post it, Holmes?
<Holmes105> Xanthe posted it on her website.
<dossier> thank you all for the invitation, I enjoyed this tremendously, but I'm off to study.  thanks again!
<Holmes105> It's under new stories
<Xanthe> It's hilarious!!!
<Holmes105> Byee
<Xanthe> I loved it!
<Xanthe> Every line is a classic. I was laughing my head off.
<Holmes105> Thanks, Xanthe!
<Hal> I'll definitely be checking it out, then :)
<Xanthe> But will you be writing more, Holmes?
<Holmes105> I've just had a lot of weird stuff in RL lately
<Holmes105> Yes,
<Xanthe> I miss things like Towelfic.
<Xanthe> That was SO good!
<Holmes105> I've been stuck lately.
Wombat sympathises with Holmes
<Xanthe> Ah, the dreaded writer's block we were talking about earlier.
<Xanthe> Sigh.
<Holmes105> I'm also answering a challenge to do anUnRedeemedk/Sk
<Holmes105> Considering my view, it's hard.
<Wombat> Ooh.. will there be handcuffs?
<Holmes105> Yes, lol
<Holmes105> Assuredly.
<Xanthe> Why's it hard if he's unredeemed?!
<Holmes105> Well, it's the set up.
<Xanthe> Harder to make him redeemed...but maybe that's just me <G>
<Holmes105> I've got that down...now it's getting past all the past life of K
<Holmes105> I agree, Xanthe
<Holmes105> I couldn't do that
<Mulder> rehi Czeri :)
Rose hands a cushion to czeri.
<ahnon_e_m> if krycek is unredeemed yet, when you cash him in, can i lick the stamps?
<Holmes105> Anyway, that and a story about Mooses
<Czeri> Thanks guys! I'm new at this strange IRC stuff.
<Wombat> Past lives can be a pain.  There are more cliches there than almost anywhere else
<Wombat> Mooses?
<Holmes105> Yes, a Moosetown
<Wombat> Like, Rocky and Bullwinkle?
<Czeri> I didn't know it disconnects.
<Xanthe> Isn't it funny the way past lives sometimes become canon?!
<Holmes105> More like a moose crazed town
<Holmes105> Yes!
<Holmes105> In Fan fic
<Wombat> Northern exposure!
<Holmes105> Sure is!
<Xanthe> Like Sharon working in the art world. Why is that?! It';s not said anywhere that she did!
<Holmes105> Worse!
<Hal> and "Krycek doesn't wear underwear"
<Holmes105> I just thought she would
<Holmes105> Yeah!
<Wombat> snarf!
<Holmes105> And Mulder's funny underwear
<Rose> Well, to be fair, no one ever said that she didn't...
<Xanthe> Yet most fanfic writers have her running an art gallery or working in a museum. I mean - WHY?!
<Xanthe> Yup - M's underwear! LOL!
<Xanthe> And Sk being a good cook!
<Holmes105> For me, it worked in Folie A.D.
<Holmes105> It had art as a theme
<Wombat> Mulder's miserable family life...
<Xanthe> It's not a criticism, Rose. I just think it's amusing how we all run with the same idea! It must appeal to us.
<Rose> She looks like a boarding school roomate of mine... very arty girl.
<Holmes105> Well, I think Mulder's miserable family life is practically canon
Rose nods. True... I think that there must be an archetype fail in our heads somewhere...
<Holmes105> His family seemed really cold. Could just be bad acting
<Wombat> You're probably right there
<Rose> file typo city here today...
<Viridian5> I agree on his family seeming at best dysfunctional. At worst.....
<Holmes105> The mind shivers, eh!
<Czeri> fanon, canon, the line is really thin.
<Wombat> But it's a bit of a cliche throughout slash that at least one character had an unhappy childhood
<Holmes105> ANd I like canon...towels
<Holmes105> That's what I used in Towelfic
<Holmes105> Canon Towels
Walt1013 nods at Czeri - I notice I sometimes mix them up.
<Viridian5> Well, unhappy childhoods lead to Angst.
<Holmes105> True
<Holmes105> And angst leads to hurt/comfort
<Hal> hurt/comfort leads to the dark side.
<KMSpider> which leads to sex
<Hal> or was that fear?
<Rose> I try to build a plausible backstory, but with some characters it is hard to do without falling back on personal experience.
<Viridian5> Which is a Ver Good Thing.
Wombat grins
<Mulder> NEW QUESTION:
<Mulder> Question to ALL guests: What is the ultimate challenge for you in Slash?
<Wombat> Motivating myself to work :(
<Czeri> I second Wombat!!!
<Hal> Making something unusual both funny and sexy
<Hal> what Te once called "the coveted GiggleSquidge"
<Wombat> I think getting the characterisation right is the Holy Grail of fanfic
<Viridian5> Making sure the sex is different yet right for the characters every time.
<Holmes105> Got booted again
<Wombat> Avoiding 'insert tab A into slot B' sex
<Viridian5> Oh yeah!
Rose tosses a bootcushion and cuff to Holmes.
<Viridian5> Welcome back, Holmes.
<Hal> writing stuff that's as weird as I like it and still getting others to read it <g>
<Holmes105> Thanks! lol
<Czeri> Write something else than sex...
<Wombat> Sex is quite hard to write for me
<Hal> Wombat: I agree
<Holmes105> What's the question
<Aqua> Not getting too lost in the plot, and adding too mnay sub plots
<Czeri> Have a plot.
<Wombat> Nah... that's half the fun :)
<Wombat> Holmes, it was 'what's the ultimate challenge for you in slash'
<Holmes105> Not getting too far out
<Hal> It sounds like Ultimate Fighting or something <g>
<Holmes105> LOL
<Holmes105> And not doing cliched sex
<Viridian5> It's the steel cage match!
<Hal> "This slashfic is now the ultimate power in the universe"
<Holmes105> I want the doll, Hal
<Wombat> Wasn't there a Sentinel episode where they had a steel wrestling cage in the basement of the prison where one of the guys went undercover?
<KMSpider> yes
<Wombat> I gotta see that series
<Rose> Does anyone have any current recs for badfic?
<Wombat> Steve Ratliff.  Check him out on alt.startrek.creative.  I'm pretty sure he must write it on purpose
<Wombat> That and 'the Eye of Argon' by Jim Theis
<Rose> I mean some really big loads of WRONG!
<Rose> What site?
<Holmes105> How wrong?
<mitsou> What are the slash writers going to do when the "new" agent takes his place this season? Rumor has it that Chris Noth of Sex in the City is being considered.
<Wombat> Rose, check out http://pinky.wtower.com/mst3k/index.shtml
<Xanthe> Ick. I don't know why they need a new agent. What's wrong with using Sk and K more?
<Xanthe> Makes me pissed off!
<Holmes105> Chris NOTH? LOL
<KMSpider> forget new characters.... we need more KRYCEK!!!!!
<Hal> There should just be more Skinner
<Wombat> Never heard of him...
<Aqua> I agree with Xanthe
<Holmes105> I agree!
<Rose> So wrong that you need Maalox and tissue.
<Cedara> Wombat: Logan
<Holmes105> More Skinner
<Aqua> we need more Krycek and Skinner
<Cedara> from Law&Order
<Viridian5> Chris Noth is cool, but I really want more Krycek.
<Hal> but I'm sure we'll find a way to slash the poor guy, whoever he may be
<Wombat> Sorry, no clue
<mitsou> definitely more Skinner
<Holmes105> I think the new guy should flashback to Law and Order
<Viridian5> He's begging for it just from walking on the show.
<Hal> I think there should be a new woman
<Holmes105> Never will happen though
<Viridian5> Yeah! Hey that would be great. Logan's tired of the "boonies", becomed a fed.
<Viridian5> I agree, Hal.
<Holmes105> They do well to write Scully
<Mulder> rehi Sebastian :)
<Sebastian> blasted isp
<Walt1013> I hate the idea of a new character... there's so many good "old ones"!
Wombat comforts Sebastian
<Holmes105> Sebastian, you're on AOL, right?
<Holmes105> LOL!
<Holmes105> I want more Sk
<Aqua> We don't need a new character - for heavens sake why can't they use the ones they have already?
<Hal> Pendrell could come back!
<ahnon_e_m> they should have brought back det. munch. he'd be a hoot.
<Sebastian> no
<Hal> and Spender
<Wombat> I love the crossovers!
<Holmes105> Oh, Detective Munch or Bayliss
<Wombat> Especially that cops one!
<Holmes105> I loved Bayliss
<KMSpider> it'd be nice if the xfile's writers didn't continue to kill off every extra that they could
<Hal> and Tom Colton!
<Wombat> Frank Black?
<Rose> Thanks Wombat!
<Holmes105> That would be a cheery trio
<Hal> I doubt Frank would, though I'd love to see him.
<Holmes105> Sk/Sc/Black
<Hal> He'd work very well with Scully, I think.
<KMSpider> munch/black/colton.... what a threesome!
<cdavis> Frank/Undead CSM...has possibilities...
<Holmes105> Sk/Sc/Black is a suicide pact waiting to happen
Wombat snorts
<ahnon_e_m> is tom colton the one was nasty to mulder?
<Hal> Yes, that's right.
<Holmes105> Yes, sort of like the ANti Pendrell
<KMSpider> yeah, in the tooms episode
<Viridian5> I doubt Munch would ever become a fed. <g>
<Czeri> Yeah, dead ones! I vote for Tooms!
<Holmes105> I love Munch
<Holmes105> And Bayliss is probably in Oz now
Aqua sighs - I just want more Krycek
<ahnon_e_m> he'd be great, forced to search for mulder. especially since they didn't kill him off.
<KMSpider> <giggle> that's what we need... more tooms' slash!!!
<Hal> Kate from Angel
<Viridian5> Probably, poor guy. God knows what his sanity's like now.
<Wombat> Ew!
<Holmes105> Tooms/flukeman
<Wombat> We!
